The flat is in an excellent location and was in good decorative order. The large kitchen and open plan living areas were good and the two bathrooms excellent. We loved walking out of the building and going one way for the sea or the other for shops and restaurants. The history of the building was of particular interest to my parents who accompanied us and who are retired school teachers!

There were a few ‘issues’ - not serious but things you might want to look at. Some of the pans in the kitchen were not suitable for induction hobs which I’m sure you can imagine was frustrating. Would recommend these are replaced asap. The information about rubbish and recycling could be improved - particularly recycling as it wasn’t clear what to do with recycling accumulated between the box collection day and the date of leaving. The flat was very hot and the control in the hall way didn’t seem to have any affect on the output of the radiators.

It was a beautiful old Manor House as you approached, upon entering you were greeted by a very pleasant receptionist. After checking in a second member of staff showed us to our room and offered to carry our luggage. The room was very clean and spacious, an excellent on suite shower room. It also had a well stocked tea and coffee making facility.

Very conveniently located close to the airport, with a tram stop just a few minutes walk away that allows you to reach both the airport and the city centre easily. There's also a taxi service available at the reception with taxis arriving within 10 minutes which is highly efficient. The breakfast is very complete.

The location is excellent, in a really lovely part of Barry called Cold Knapp, walk to the right and there is a lovely lake in a park setting, walk to the left and you are on the front at Barry. It's over a great Turkish restaurant too, we had some really authentic meals there.

Great little flat, everything you need and a very comfortable bed. Best of all the location is amazing with the canal just outside for walking along, and shops within just 3 or 4 minutes walk.

Unfortunately what lets this great BnB down is the upstairs neighbours. As many other reviewers have said, they walk very loudly back and forth for hours, up to midnight, then again from just before 4.30am. Not just the odd footsteps, but constant footsteps even running and thumping. This means getting decent sleep is near impossible. Such a shame for an otherwise excellent place.
