- “Baan Thai House is a really beautiful hotel set in really lovely grounds. We booked 2 rooms which were both absolutely lovely and one of the rooms had the bonus of an outdoor shower. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We really loved the pool area which was well maintained with plenty of sun beds and a beautiful setting by the river. The staff were wonderful; extremely friendly and very helpful. We booked a sunset river tour through the hotel which was excellent and were dropped off at the night market for food. They also arranged a transfer back to Bangkok too. The hotel is a short tuk tuk or taxi ride to the main sights and we liked the fact it was tucked away in a lovely quiet area surrounded by well maintained gardens and a lovely lake. Would definitely stay here again!”

  Although the accommodation was compact (as expected) everything was to a high standard: very comfy beds, good linen and towels, well equipped shower room, and lots of thoughtful touches, like a wide selection of teas/coffees and fresh Welsh cakes and butter awaiting us on our arrival. The fresh breakfast, delivered at a time we had chosen, was excellent: choice of yoghurts, big bowl of fresh fruit, granola/muesli, warm French bread, fresh croissants and selection of jams. Isobel was lovely, very friendly and helpful.

  Very clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and warm with fantastic views loved by all especially our fur baby. It was close to and had everything we could possibly need. Great night’s sleep Lovely neighbourhood with lots of friendly people and great food options. The chippy Chinese takeout and deli were all very much enjoyed.

  Couple of small snagging things light bulb flashing/ out. Only 2 mugs available plus one with broken handle- hidden in back of cupboard.

  Everything about this place was brilliant. The unique room set up was excellent and to be so close to the heart of Edinburgh and Arthur's Seat was just an added bonus. Staff were incredibly helpful at every turn and the rooms were always impeccable.

  Cobwebs were in the majority of ceiling corners. Water damage seen in the hall. Noise from the street was unbearable in one of the bedrooms. The other bedrooms did not have this issue. The entry way and hall to the apartment was pitch black without any lighting. Staff were relatively difficult to deal with to the point where I felt the need to send photos of the apartment on check in so that I would not be blamed for any damage already present and I had to request my deposit to be returned, although they did so promptly.
