Perfect location, short walk from station, central and close to theatre and Cathedral and plenty of choice for eating. A very warm welcome from the receptionist and other staff. Room overlooked the car park as we were on a budget, but was comfortable and quiet. Lovely lounge and bar area and a very pretty garden. The house has a long history and there is an infornation leaflet available, though it does have some innacuracies - Charles II's mistress was Louise de Kerouaile, not Charlotte, and she wasn't the mistress of Louis IV. She was more his agent and spy. Bed very comfortable, shower good. Liked the biscuits and the checkin and checkout times were very reasonable, plus we could have left any luggage in their care if room wasn't ready.

Nothing, really. The view of the car park wasn't great, but we weren't there for the view, but the location.

The hotel is modern and close to the city centre with easy access to the tram system. Our room was at the back of the hotel, overlooking the canal so was quiet. The bed was comfortable and I particularly liked the stylish comfortable swivel chair by the desk. Tea/coffee supplies were replenished daily. There is a useful city guide book provided in the room (see photo). Manchester city centre is a great place for shopping, restaurants and it has an extensive and cheap public transport system (Tram, Zone 1 all day ticket costs just £1.90). Also noticed how clean the city centre was. Gave Manchester 5 stars and will be back sometime this year.

Tried to check in using the self-service terminal but it couldn't find the booking (tried twice). So asked one of the reception staff to book us in on their computer and that went without a problem. I found the entrance lobby too dimly lit. I think it needs stronger lighting.

Excellent views across open fields as far as the sea. Very quirky building that was generally comfortable and practical. Access was easy and despite lots of glass and an open room the top floor was warm and inviting. Comfortable bedrooms with separate heating and comfortable beds. En suite bathrooms were modern. Very clean throughout.

The kitchen was a little disappointing. There were only two electrical sockets which is not enough for all the appliances. The cabling to the extractor fan was not connected. Whilst we did not need the fan it should have been connected up. The cables to the television were a tangled mess on the wall and spoilt the otherwise wonderful top floor. These are minor issues.

We stopped here for one night on our road trip and had a pleasant stay. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both were excellent. We came during the off season and were upgraded to a room with a view for free, which was very kind of them. We also brought our pet and found it to be very pet friendly.

The location is a bit challenging to get to if you've got a larger car.

Would have preferred a key to get back into the property at night instead of feeling we were keeping to owner awake to stay up for us 😃

Excellent property, easy smooth check in when arrived, all bedrooms were beautiful, spacious and plenty of room for full capacity

Only minor concern was upstairs (main bathroom) shower was a bit worse for wear, and there were some dark hairs in it. But other than that whole house was basically spotless and plenty of other bathrooms so we just didn’t use that shower! Couple of bits need fixing (a window that didn’t fully shut and a cupboard in kitchen that was off the hinges) but didn’t affect our stay!
