It’s really close to the train station and a short walk from the high street. For all the bad there are a few really kind residents who went out of their way to make us feel safe, knowing themselves how difficult it could be to live there. They did really brighten up the place and I hope some of these issues get resolved so they have better living conditions.

Honestly, the area was really dangerous and when outside to the shops I witness a violent attack. Then at the hotel there were men walking round in only towels, many made uncomfortable/inappropriate comments towards me and another female guest too. Most of the guests were permanent or semi permanent residents (and male!) so it felt difficult to say anything back, and it was really difficult to get a hold of any staff. They weren’t often present in person (20 mins a day at round 1ish so I typically wasn’t in the building), and when using the contact details provided on booking.com I struggled to receive answers. The bathrooms and rooms were dirty (poo covered toilet paper in bins, clogged shared showers, stained bedding etc), the general building had a foul oder. The shared spaces were also much too crowded and my food was missing when I went back to get it from the fridge mere hours later. I extended my stay by one night out of absolute necessity and was charged a considerable amount extra than I would have paid online. I was made aware by a resident that some of the residents are known thieves and many are in the building 24/7, so if you do stay it is necessary to bring a lock If you’re a woman staying I would recommend the women’s only dorm as the others seem to be exclusively men, and I would also suggest going with another person rather than solo just to keep safer.

Helpful and friendly reception staff and convenient location, close to Paddington station and Hyde park. Quiet and safe feeling surrounding area and the hotel itself was quiet. Good buffet breakfast provided.

Large and comfortable and clean room with a great outlook over the sea. The house had a historic and mysterious feel about it, I enjoyed climbing the steps to our first-floor room.

No air conditioning in the room we had a small desk fan that just blew hot air around the room which made us even warmer so we had to open windows which then brought many bugs into the room and on the bed and even in the bathroom, as shown in pictures (not very clear sorry) Can also hear whenever anyone is entering the pin code outside and coming in and out and we stayed on the top floor.

The breakfast was blunt, especially the scrambled eggs left a lot to be desired. Moreover, I am disappointed by the service. To my surprise, I found the door of my room open when I came back in the afternoon. Nothing was missing but still, the cleaning staff should have taken notice as an unfortunate event might have happened. The ladies at the reception were nice and apologized for the incident. Lastly, I requested an invoice and they informed me that it would be sent to my email address after my stay. Almost a week has passed by and even though I reached out to them, I have received no response. In general, I had higher expectations by this hotel which were clearly not met.
