The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

We as a family loved the place with the host being very warm and hospitable. Breakfast was extremely good and fresh. We stayed for just 1 evening but had a good discussion with host about various topics. Loved the place and would recommend others to give a try.

It’s right on the river at Caversham! The terrace bar is just a few steps up from the riverside. Restaurant overlooks it too. There’s a lift to all floors. Very good food and helpful staff. Easy parking.

You have to pay for parking and the costs shot up from just over £80 a night when I researched available hotels to over £200 when I stayed !

Staff very friendly. Bed comfy and room clean. New carpet in room 11. No view, but quiet room, liked that the window opened well. Breakfast basic, but did the job.

Corridors smelled. Whole place is a bit dated. Bar tables too low for the seats. A little out of town

Room outdated. Could do with a refurb. View excellent if allocated room facing lake, otherwise poor if facing main busy road. Breakfast fine

More comfy lounge/sitting area

We liked the style of the hotel, conveniently situated for tubes and Hyde Park. Very good breakfast and friendly and helpful staff.

Unfortunately we were given 2 single rooms and not the deluxe twin room that I'd booked and paid for, which did spoil our compleat overall stay,as my twin sister and i always share a room. but I'm on the understanding that is down to booking.com?

Good location close to Hyde Park and the train. Staff were helpful and we were able to change rooms after the first night.

We stayed on the top floor and the ceilings were stooped and low. The placement of the bathroom and the shower meant that we could not have comfortable showers as the ceiling height was approx 170cm. There was no door to the shower which also meant water went everywhere in the bathroom when we tried to have a shower. The staff were helpful and moved us to a room on a lower floor after the first night, which didn’t have the same problem. It should be made clearer if you are booking a room on the top floor and what the ceiling height in the bathroom is.
Great Driffield, United Kingdom

The house and gardens are beautiful and the house is full of history.
