The breakfast was as good as breakfasts at more expensive hotels. A bonus was the option of oatmeal porridge which you ordered specially. Made with milk, it was delicious and set me up for the day. Location perfect in wonderful Bloomsbury, staff helpful and friendly. Compared to other and more expensive hotels, it was really excellent value for money. Considerably cheaper than the Premier Inn chain, for example, and much more pleasant. I'll be back.

There is one snag to the Bedford: it doesn't have air conditioning. The nicest rooms overlook the garden and get very warm during sunny summer days. I'd probably choose different accommodation during the summer months, just in case I found myself in London during a heatwave.

It was a cool movie themed room, big tv which was nice for watching something in the late evening after a busy day/ early evening exploring. Staff were really friendly and welcoming.

Unfortunately our room was next to an alarm that was going off in the hotel, it was more of a system alarm so the beeping of a battery running out, which ruined our nights sleep. We did tell the staff and they did appolagise. As well as this we seemed to also have the water pipes going through our room so there was lots of loud noises sadly. The bed which was advertised as a double was actually 2 singles pushed together which was also not very comfy when you land over the join of the beds. It’s a cool building, lovely staff and very central but for the price my partner and I felt a little let down, especially as we had paid a little extra for a themed room.

A hotel full of character with friendly helpful staff set in beautiful surroundings and wonderful gardens. Incredible views from the dining room. Would not hesitate to return.

Nothing to dislike

Comfortable, with beautiful decor and in a great location. Well equipped also and Moira was very helpful to us if we had any questions. Having two toilets was also very helpful!

Nothing.

Centrally located in the centre of Stamford, with lots of shops, cafés and restaurants. The apartment was clean and spacious.
Negative section of review
The apartment was quite noisy as it is located next to a night club and I can hear cars driving past (the double glazed windows don't keep out the sound). The radiator in the bathroom is rusting and will possibly need replacing.

This has been our worst booking ever. We were arriving late and advised the owner, as the instructions clearly state that you will be met at the property. You are not. We managed to get the lock box code from the owner, which is the last communication we ever received from them. On arrival you are greeted with 5 flights of very steep stairs which have sharp turns. Not good if you have any luggage, elderly or have COPD like me. On opening the door to the unit, you instantly regret booking this place. It bears no resemblance to the photos. False and misleading marketing. It isn’t a stylish apartment, it’s a slum bedsit. A bed in a room. With the nastiest stains on the carpet. Two flimsy towels for the entire stay and no washing facilities. There is no seating area. You need to pack pillows as the two provided are a joke. The bed is the most uncomfortable in the world. On inspection the mattress had been flipped over (no prizes for guessing why!). So you sleep on the mattress base and feel every single spring. Next morning I woke up with red blotches all over my body. We tried to contact the owner….. no response. We then called Booking. com and they were at the time helpful, apologetic and promised they would raise a complaint and issue a refund for the unused portion of the stay. Later that day they back flipped, no compensation, no refund, no further communication. Their advice instead of a refund…leave a review! So we hope you will find this honest review helpful. Their slogan is Booking.yeah, more like booking.naah If you have booked this place and have the opportunity for a refund, cancel immediately.
