This is a cracking, simple but spotless hotel. Right off the A1, with surprisingly quiet rooms overlooking lovely fields, I was really pleased with my two night stay here. My room was basic but absolutely immaculate and spacious. The staff here are the fabulously rare kind: genuinely friendly but really hardworking and efficient! Everything worked, my bed was really comfy and the food was fab. Breakfast was fresh and hot, Dinners were tasty and the menu varied. Will definitely be back.

Soundproofing of the hotel internally could be better, but it's the design and age of the building really. I had earplugs so I was fine after 5 mins anyway.

Good room, enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast. As we were travelling with our dog the proximity to the nearby country park right next door was a useful and lovely addition to the stay. Likewise the garden access from the room was helpful for our dog and allowed easy wheelchair access for my husband

Perfect spot for views of thirlmere, coffee shop with out door seating, rooms clean and comfortable . Enjoyed evening meal and breakfast at the sister Hotel Kings head. Handy for bus services and walking , staff friendly, continental breakfast available

Elegant and beautiful house, overlooking the inlet. Close to a shop. Lovely owner who helped us a great deal with information and even opened the shop specially for us when our plane was delayed.

Newly refurbished hotel. The bedrooms and bathrooms were new. The hotel is centrally located on the main street of the village. There are shops and cafés nearby.
