  Lovely first impression of the hotel when we arrived, clean tidy and modern. There was also a nice buzz from the bar area, which felt very welcoming. We quickly checked in to our River View room, which was great. The room was bright and offered a brilliant view of the Tyne. Despite being two single beds coupled together, the bed was comfy and a sound night sleep was gaurenteed.

  All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The decor of our room (171) and the dining room in particular was bold but tasteful. The extensive grounds were delightful to see (sadly too wet for us to enjoy sitting outside).

  The huge number (20 plus) of peacocks which were all over the external tables and chairs was offputting/scary and dominated the outside area. Breakfast was a little disappointing. No menu offered, and the tea was stewed as it was served out of one large pot rather than individual teapots.

  Loved the location such a nice village with lots of shops. The room was lovely only thing we wasn't keen on was how soft the bed was but we got over it .Will definitely stay here again

  Loved the location of the van. Quiet and spacious.

  Sadly the accommodation has been neglected and is in need of a deep clean and revamp. The photos are not a good representation of the accommodation as it is now. Looking back on past reviews relating to the comfort of the bed this has not been addressed and the mattress really needs replacing. Lots of repair jobs need to be carried out along with a deep clean of the decking around the accommodation.
