What did I like about Halwell Lodge? There are many wonderful aspects to highlight. The garden and the dining area, adorned with vintage furniture, create a charming and relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was undoubtedly the highlight of our stay. Embracing a sustainability approach, everything was freshly cooked on the day, with orders placed the day before. I particularly enjoyed the full Cornish breakfast. We were treated to fresh coffee, an assortment of fresh fruits, warm croissants, and what I believe was homemade bread. The location is also very convenient, being just a 10-minute bus ride or a 7-minute train journey to central St Ives. Overall, Halwell Lodge offers a delightful and memorable experience.

While our stay at Halwell Lodge was largely enjoyable, there were a few drawbacks. Our room was on the ground floor, and visibility from the conservatory meant we sometimes felt a lack of privacy. On one occasion, another guest was in the garden right outside our window, which was a bit uncomfortable. However, we did enjoy the well-maintained garden view, which was a nice compromise. Additionally, the bathroom could benefit from some refurbishment to enhance the overall experience.

the location was superb. The room was impressive with a confortable bed and excellent facilities which compensated the lack of 'garden views'. The breakfast was fine, although the 'full breakfast' could have offered a bit more. The poached eggs were at times like boiled eggs..overall a good selection of fresh fruit, lovely croissants and cereals

the Afternoon Tea was a bit disappointing. The sandwiches were thin and basic, the cakes nothing special. No 'plain' scones, so left one of them. The strawberry with a rock solid chocolate, not a liquid one. The coffee Americano came like a very long Espresso coffee which we had to send back. The champagne was good, but for that price we expected more .

Staff were wonderful particularly Lora on reception who was very helpful ! Great location in Wimborne central to all pubs theatre and eateries. Great private parking.

The price for one night is a bit steep as the rooms are rather dated. TV hanging down on its worn out mount. Carpet a bit grubby and walls etc need a freshen up. Only one double plug socket for the entire room.

There was no phone in the room to call reception No iron and ironing board in the room. When asked at reception I had to carry them to my room she never offered to send it to my room. We were on an early morning flight so I had emailed months ago to say we will be on an early morning flight if we could get a room at the earliest. When we arrived I asked a few times but the woman on the desk kept telling me it will be 3 so we had to wait we had arrived at 7:30
