The staff were excellent. in the restaurant we were always welcomed, service was excellent and the staff were friendly but not familiar. The gentleman in reception to whom we complained about the lack of power in all the sockets in our room was splendid. Not only did he go and check what could be done, but he came to see us with a report of what he had found and how, because there was no way it could be fixed he had found another room for us.

The fact that the first room we were given had only two sockets operational and these two had no power to them. we had to repack our bags and move to another room. The second room, we discovered later that evening had a faulty television in that BBC 1 had no sound. A strange fault as all the other channels worked perfectly. We also discovered as we went to bed that the wash basin drain was very slow to drain. Frankly we felt the fabric of a hotel of this calibre should be better cared for and in full working order.

Christine and Leon were exceptional hosts. Breakfast was very good, also they put us onto the best chippy in Blackpool. Enjoyed a drink at their bar/lounge.

The evening menu was limited but the quality and speed of service was excellent. The breakfast was good with a varied choice of items.

I was disappointed there was no bottle of mineral water in the room. For those having to take tablets it was awkward to fill the mug from the bathroom sink tap. The water did not taste very pleasant.

Have stayed here many times and have always been happy with the good value for money, though not this time.

When we were booked in told there would be no hot water as boiler was broke, this was extremely disappointing as we'd just come from an eight mile charity walk on a hot day and were looking forward to a shower. The soap dispenser was off the wall and lying by the basin and the toilet flush was difficult to do as top of that was broken. We really should have asked for another room or a refund to go somewhere else with hot water!

The lift we should have used to get to our bedroom was not working so we had to go through to another building to get to a lift with our cases through a Warren of hallways and steps, in fact we had to phone reception to find our way down for dinner as there were no signs to guide us and a receptionist came to guide us. The television was also Not working. No air conditioning and window opening very restricted.

It was filthy. My room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. The towels did not smell fresh, the bathroom was smelly/damp and the floor was disgusting. The bed was so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep, and the aircon made such a loud noise I was unable to use it.
