The room size was fabulous with a sofa included in room. Plenty tea and coffee with coffee machine although we didn’t use it. The bed was absolutely amazing for a great night sleep. There was an iron and iron board, hairdryer and spare pillows to choose from. Good size room. The hotel was walking distance to all shops pubs and restaurants, however the taxi service was also amazing for a short distance too. The restaurant bar was absolutely stunning albeit small but fabulous atmosphere with an array or cocktails and drinks to choose from, staff were very helpful but on a Saturday it’s very busy so the wait is slightly longer for a drink.

Parking behind the hotel we could see all the bed line and towels just thrown in a heap outside on the ground waiting to be picked up. There is a small outside garden area but due to the renovations was unavailable to use and looked like a tip. On entrance to the hotel you walk past the function suite which is not in use as it’s under renovations, however you can see inside which makes the hotel feel derelict more so as there are no staff and it’s an unmanned hotel. Entry to the room first impression was good. However, the window in the room is huge with curtains but there are no other blinds on the window, therefore if your walking about the room, people in the car park can look up and see you more so when the toilet is at the window side. Bedside lamps are lovely but one didn’t even have a socket to plug into. There was no side lamps or table lamp at the table which was a shame. The sofa was covered in dust, the carpets weren’t the best cleaned and you could hear the neighbours using the toilet which felt like they were in your room. So bare in mind if you can hear everything when they are in the toilet they will probably hear you. For the hotel being renovated the walls are badly needing painted due to scuff marks and just needs a freshen up. The bathrooms are all new but the doors are needing either painted or replaced. I’ve been very critical on my review only because it’s gone under renovation but there are things needing finalised more so for the price we paid. However we would return and would recommend the hotel.

the bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve slept in and breakfast was pretty awful for £15.
