This is an architecturally interesting place and has seen various uses in its past. It's got a lot of features - Victorian (I think) glazed tiles and an ancient lift with a double set of doors.... which soon went out of service owing to a fault. Staff kindly offered to help with my case etc but with hotels like this, and it is a subjective thing, this is not really my style - I prefer things to work... The hotel also has my 'pet hates' - lots of cushions and pillows, which in my experience tend to end up on the floor, and my particular 'pet hate': over-priced snacks - £1 for a small teacake - no thanks! The hotel was an easy walk from the station. Although nothing very terrible happened, I would not want to say here again.

Front entrance had steps - later I discovered that there was a back entrance suitable for those who couldn't manage steps. [I had a ski-ing injury, so was having mobility issues.] The existence of the back entrance could have been made clear. The lift breaking down was a blow - they told me that someone from Holland (sic) had been summoned to fix it, although it was working the next day. A staff member offered to help me with my case, which was kind. There appeared to be no food available - the bar was completely empty...

Beautiful building, excellent location, gardens were tranquil and the perfect spot for a relaxing stroll, the restaurant and food was excellent, and all the staff were wonderful and extremely helpful.

Unfortunately we could hear the tv of the room next to us which kept us awake until the early hours of the morning. The mattress in our room was also very soft which makes it tricky as a couple not to roll into each other throughout h the night. For the price of the room I would have expected a better quality mattress and thicker walls.

Central location, easy walk to the promenade , centre and the parks of Cheltenham. Beds very comfy and staff very friendly. There is a bar in the foyer which served nice drinks in the evening.

Nothing really

The room is great: confortable bed, very well equiped, reasonable distance from London, good access from/to public transports. Quiet, roomy and clean.

The window shatters were not enough to keep the room dark, so after 5 AM it was not easy to sleep. If you have a sleep mask or sunlight doesn't affect your sleeping, than it is perfect.

The location of the hotel to the theatre was great. Breakfast was nice. Bed was comfy.

The decor in the bathroom was extremely tired and in serious need of updating. The shower curtain was a trip hazard, as it was too long and lay on the bottom of the bath. Which I stumbled on and fell. The room was also a little dirty in places and the iron and kettle were not as clean as they should have been.

Food - when food advertised at 6.30 to 9.30pm then it should not close until this time (e'g')
