The bed was comfortable. The pub attached is characterful and (obviously) sells alcohol which is (obviously) a plus. Friendly staff upon check-in and throughout the evening in the pub. Breakfast was a good bonus, and was of a good quality, although I didn't realise it was included, so had already purchased and brought my own breakfast with me which turned out to be a waste of money. The hotel is in Duns Tew, which is ideal if you need to be in Duns Tew, as I did.

The room was extremely hot upon checking in -- radiators had been left on full even though it was a hot day. The guy who showed me to my room immediately turned the main room radiator off, but ten minutes later I found the bathroom radiator still on full blast, so I turned that off too. Had to fling the windows open to cool the room down a bit, but... there was no privacy from the punters in the beer garden outside unless you closed the windows and also the shutters, blocking out all daylight. The room was tiny - nowhere to sit apart from on the bed. The bathroom was tired, and decor was poor. When I checked out the next morning, an older Irish guy who I assume to be the proprietor was unwilling to accept that I'd already paid via booking.com. I showed him my receipt which luckily I'd printed and brought with me, and he photographed it and grudgingly let me leave -- he didn't bother to ask how my stay had been.

The staff were really helpful and friendly throughout our stay and the apartment was clean and comfortable, and it is less than a 5 minute walk from the underground.

The whole hotel. It smelt on arrival. Very dated. The bedding was damp to touch. The heating sounded like we could control it, we couldn't. We had to use electric fan heater. The shower took 20 minutes before it got warm. In hind sight we should have complained but we are not that type of people. But lesson's have to be learned! We spilt abit of food on the white bedding, 3 small marks that should have easily come out! But to be told it hasn't come out, without any proof. They have taken £35 from us. We definitely won't be staying here ever again!
