Large comfy bed, large shower and bathroom. Quiet location. Staff. Food. We enjoyed the resturant on Weds evening, as well as the nornal menu there was a selection of 'pie and pint' specials which I very much enjoyed. Nice locally brewed real ales too. Happy to stay again when if in the area.

No food or drinks Tuesday evening (Mondays also). But the owner had taken the trouble to contact us to explain and offer alternatives the day before we arrived. Nearby Cockermouth also had many pubs closed or not serving food after 1930 however we didnt starve and had a take away fish n chips.

The accommodation is quite special and you can really feel and see all the love and focus the owners put into this. There are a lot of really lovely, funny tiny details to observe. Perfect for a short visit of York: After a 20 min walk along the river you are downtown 🤗

Breakfast was nice when prepared however the continental items such as juices etc empties fairly quickly and were not refilled very quickly. The room itself was a fair size however the bathroom was quite small making it hard for larger people to move around comfortably

My main concern was the heat of the room during the night. The temperature outside was fairly warm anyway but it felt like being abroad when trying to sleep and had to have the fan going most of the night. Not sure if this is to due with the location of the room such as if it is near the kitchen extractor fans etc but this made my stay a lot less comfortable than I hoped. Breakfast isn’t served early enough on the weekends meaning I had to skip it on both weekend days as the reason I travelled was because I needed an early start to go somewhere so I had to stop at McDonald’s on both days which was disappointing.

the pod was beautiful my children loved it and want to go back for another holiday - very quiet in a good way lots of adventures to have near by we visited Conkers,Twycross Zoo & Drayton Manor theme park we will 100% be rebooking for another stay.

if i had to pass on one improvement that would be a sliding/closeable door adding to the entrance of the pod. this would maximise privacy when using the hot tub

The location is about the only positive thing that can be said about the place really. Breakfast was pretty good but didn’t make up for everything else in this vile place.

The fact that it is absolutely filthy throughout. Every communal area, every corridor no matter what floor, there were leaves, stones, twigs, dirt & dust. The rooms were absolutely disgraceful, they hadn’t been cleaned or hoovered, there was spit in the sink from a previous guest & traces of their “movements” still in the toilets. Just as much filth on the floor in the bedrooms as there was in the hallways. The bar area was filthy & tired, there was chewing gum stuck to the front of the bar & all manner of filth including cigarette ends on the floor. They offered one type of lager & the coffee machine hadn’t even been turned on. Staff were visibly unhappy & unengaging and it’s no surprise considering the filthy & soulless place they are having to work. It is clearly aimed at the elderly coach tours that stay there, not to guests of all ages.

Breakfast was superb and the dining Staff were most helpful. Booked a Lochview room which was nice but Room 32 above a shed that spoiled the view somewhat.

-Double bed was a bit small. -Paid £40 for early checkin but ran rate and our friends could not gain access to get changed for nearby wedding, understood but not ideal.

Not much. Being inner city London there is not a lot of space.

Fantastic staff and service, excellent hotel. Made extra allowance for request for a bath for the kids and a mini fridge for baby food.

Room a little warm. Carparks tight - wouldn't have wanted a larger car, but can't be avoided and great to have onsote parking.
