Positive section of review
Family owned and run, friendly staff. Great location covering Dumfries to castle Douglas and the many tourist sites available along this coast. The room was clean and simply furnished. I though we would have noise from the main road but triple glazing worked well. Evening meals were good and breakfasts were cooked to order. Sitting in the restaurant you look out onto the loch and weather permitting can sit out there and enjoy a drink.

There are no paths or access along the loch although you can get to the waters edge at the Inn so if a pre or post dinner wander is your thing you don't have an option.

Great layout, big rooms, well equipped kitchen, looking out onto the Clyde, so quiet, just the sound of the water and wildlife. Your own front door, no one above or below you. Facilities ( pool, sauna, steam room) were excellent, there was a gym but hey we were on holiday so i don't know what it was like.

Loved everything. Room was a good size, warm and homely. Ruth was lovely and had kept us informed of things, like where to park and places to eat etc. We left feeling like we had just stayed at a friend's or relatives house. It really was a fantastic place.

My room was comfortable and very clean, relaxing and welcoming, extra pillows were supplied as I asked and I had a lovely view. I really enjoyed my three nights. The staff .were very helpful, taking great care of me as a solo female traveller

The personal from the hostel was super nice and friendly with their guests. I felt very welcomed since I start talking with the receptionist, she is amazing!
