  Enormous room in an attractive modern small annex with huge comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. All spotlessly clean with adjacent parking and a lovely breakfast too. The lovely owners have only just taken over this pub and clearly worked so hard in order to start offering evening meals. Understandably only a restricted menu was on offer during our stay - however the homemade lasagna was outstanding and I am sure once they are in a position to offer a full menu it will be of a high standard. We stayed here as we were attending a wedding at nearby St Audrie's Park and was very convenient for that. I have no hesitation in recommending the Ancient Mariner and wish the new owners every success.

  Loved everything. Beautiful house and garden, warm and accommodating hosts, fabulous breakfast (home-made fayre, well cooked and served with pride) Room was beautifully decorated, clean and comfy. Huge bed. Little seating area was a nice touch. Shower was uncomplicated. Nice and hot. No ridiculous controls. Just how it should be. The hosts (and soppy dog!) Were so lovely. Unobtrusive, friendly, and nothing too much trouble. Stunning scenery. Walking distance to Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby a short drive away.

  The Roseate staff were warm and attentive. We received an upgraded room, which was spacious and extremely comfortable, included a sitting room and balcony. Added extras like a cool juice drink on arrival and fresh fruit in the room were welcome. The powder room was separate from the bathroom. Just a short walk from Paddington Station and Hyde Park, the hotel's location is excellent. We would return in a heartbeat.

  The hot tub and swimming pool was an added bonus. Comfy beds Quiet location

  No contact from staff until we had arrived, so didn’t know how to get in etc. Electricity was an added cost. The property and location could do with a spruce up and a proper in depth clean, including the swimming pool. There was no mention of a charge for the swimming pool. Also advised that towels were included but they was not. The picture shows a bath but there was no bath.
