The Wheatsheaf is a pub that offers accommodation in an outside converted building (3 rooms, differing sizes (twin, double). The rooms are ensuite, comfortable and moderately spacious depending on the type. Due to to the way the building has been converted the rooms differ slightly in layout, and as I said above, space is determined by bed/occupancy. The rooms were quiet and cosy, with comfortable beds. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. En suites either with electric or boiler driven showers depending on the room. Pleasant, friendly, comfortable in a quiet (and quaint) village near Guildford in Surrey, being 3-4 miles outside the said town, and very close to Godalming. Parking available at front of pub for guests.

No hot water or heating for two nights of my stay (due to boiler driven shower), leading to cold morning showers. Heating was also non functional, but given the time of year this was less of an issue. The pub sign advertises "bed and breakfast" but like so many establishments post pandemic, has stopped this.

Central location, good for visiting Inverness. Breakfast: limited choice, mainly self service, poor selection of fresh fruit, cold meats uninviting, poor service generally.

Reception on check in was rude, maybe short staffed?

The food was very good and reasonably priced, breakfast was excellent, using quality produce.. Service and staff excellent.

For the price I paid, it is difficult to find fault. If I was to be picky, a full length mirror fitted in the bedroom.

Room No. 2 smelt damp and mouldy the whole 3 nights, even after we left both windows open to air it. Room not vacuumed on arrival. Some staff were less than enthusiastic and quite rude.
