The apartment is next to the beach, across a small road. There is almost no traffic on the road. Fish, fruit, very tasty watermelons are transported in cars. You will have 2 sunbeds and an umbrella on the beach. Walk 6 minutes to a new large discount supermarket with good prices. This is a family business. A very nice, friendly family. So nice. Thank you”

  Reception staff were very pleasant and we were made to feel welcome. Room was spacious, clean and comfy and the air conditioning most welcome for a hot weekend. Excellent toiletries and tea/coffee facility with mini fridge to keep drinks and milk cool.

  What let us down was the Champagne terrace. We ordered drinks including a bottle of champagne. This came in an ice bucket with no ice just water and no napkin to catch the drips. The glass was also cheap and nasty! We asked to pay cash - yes that was fine but they don’t give change and also add 10% surcharge to every drink - which soon adds up! Virtually no service whatsoever outside and many guests had to go the bar to get a drink. Clearly very understaffed but basic customer service training needs readdressing.

  Great location for our one night stopover not far from Penrith, about a 10 minutes drive from the M6. Country pub on a village green. Friendly staff and excellent food.

  Liked everything. Would only comment that the bathroom in the twin room (Herdwick) is tiny which might be an issue for anyone with mobility issues.

  The fire alarm kept going off, the lifts were out of action most of the evening and the air con in the suite would not turn down lower than 19 degrees and it was painfully hot all might and when I mentioned the problem the next day I was under whelmed by the response
