The Casterbridge is an Old World hotel, with charm and atmosphere. It is located very conveniently on the main road of Dorchester. There are several excellent eating places very near by, as well as shops of different types. The property has three parking places in a car park two streets away. We were welcomed by Noorani, who is a warm and effusive hostess. She made us feel at home and gave us excellent advice and recommendations on places to visit and dine. The room was large and comfortable, with ample storage space, a spacious bathroom and a luxurious bed (we stayed in the four-poster bedroom).

What a very nice guest house....from the very smiley and helpful Venezuelan lady on the front desk to the tasty hot breakfast, i cannot fault the Marton Guest house and would definitely stay here again.

The lodge was pleasant and very clean. The hot tub was good, you can get up to 4 adults in. far enough away from other lodges to feel private.

No wifi in lodge, which could have been an issue with youngsters, There is wifi in the hotel but obviously you need to go there to use it, and unfortunately the weather was horrendous during our stay. So much so we came home a day early.

Bed a was a little too soft. Would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room. Sash windows ok but could do with some secondary glazing, for the rooms higher up. The strong wind made the room cold on entering.

Parking fee as on group on motorcycles and would share parking bay and quite happy to pay , but alas everyone had to pay which did spoil arrival, as booked 5 room spending £3400 . bar are not very welcoming with no bar staff at bar most of time , food at bar poor choice .
