It was convenient to Ambleside and the South Lakes. It’s in the centre of Ambleside. It was clean and basic, no frills but that was perfect for the small group. We were in Room 1 with a separate bathroom, across the corridor, I thought this was better than having it in the room, with 3 of us sharing a room it gave us extra privacy. Whilst I have mentioned some negatives, it was still a great place to stay for a short stay

The walk from parking to the hotel, it’s a good 10 minutes carrying luggage Beware this is next to a lively busy bar The Lily, whilst the live music switched off at midnight there is a lot of noise with people leaving. Whilst we were so tired from a day of walking it didn’t keep us awake for too long, you may want to bring ear defenders.

The room was clean and had everything I needed. While guests don't have access to a kitchen, a microwave is in the room and it makes things much easier. The location is also great, it was easier to go back even after I watched a show. The instructions are clear, so I didn't have any trouble.

The location is optimal for transportation efficiency - Waterloo station is just around the corner. West end is walking distance away and the area offers restaurants and some bars (the hostel does as well). The hostel bar is reasonably priced.

The noise from the train station makes it impossible to sleep. Double or triple glass window will for sure at least reduce the problem (ear plugs won't do it). The odor was horrible - smelled like crap (not speaking offensively, literally the scent of human feces). The bathroom in my floor was too small and the sink was tiny. Showers have poor drainage so the floor is always wet. In general, the facility is unsanitary. Top bunk beds do not have any outlet, which is basic even for budget hostels. None of the beds have privacy curtains (as shown in pictures, so no surprise there). Breakfast is served only from 8 AM and the bar closes early. To conclude, this hotel is a good choice if you can not afford anything else or have to catch an early flight and willing to "throw" one night - the price is relatively cheap for city center accommodation. Otherwise, find someplace else to catch your Zzzs.

Everything you needed was there. They had thought of everything. House was spacious and comfy inside and outside.

Quilts we're far too think for our 6 guests and pillows were feather ones so your head just sunk into them which wasn't comfy. We had an influx of flies. Everyone we spoke to said they had not seen flies like it so a fly squatted would of been handy. Couldn't use fly spray as had a dog with us.

Area around rooms although has been painted still needs some TLC. The breakfast wasnt amazing, toast was tough and dry as had been cooked before the scrambled egg but it did the job and im not too fussy. Pastries were definitely a couple of days old and were inedible.
