  The room was reasonable size. Shower was lovely and powerful. Bed was comfortable. Close to the theatre we were going to. Great resturant nearby for a lovely cooked breakfast.

  The housekeeper knocked soon after we arrived, but not that hard so wasn’t sure what the noise was. But she unlocked the door to come in! We have never had a housekeeper come round that soon before. We stayed in room G4 There was no way of locking the door to stop this happening. They had replaced the card key lock with normal front door lock but that couldn’t lock. Had to balance our keys on door handle as a warning! We then also put do not disturb on the door. Bathroom light was on sensor and came on when you opened the door, bit bright in the middle of the night.

  The castle is beautiful. Not too far from shops, We stayed in a superior courtyard room. The bed was comfortable, we slept very well . Staff are friendly and helpful.

  Farmhouse annexe and cottages are around a courtyard with idyllic views across the fields all around. The coast and Mendips are great to visit.

  Paying extra for each dog staying - should be included in price quoted before booking. Having to bring own bath towels. Also only a teatowel provided in our cottage, so a handtowel and another 2 oven trays would be good for kitchen.
