It was great to hear from the staff that the Seven Stars was effectively rescued by a community buyout, as so many lovely, old pubs with rooms are disappearing. We arrived at 5pm and the pub was closed, but a lady walking her dog was able to let us in! We were impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms (only three), I had a single and my friends the twin room next door. The atmosphere in the pub was friendly, the beer on handpump good (Butty Bach) and the food home-made and excellent value. Perfect after a longish motorcycle trip from Bath. The church next door is well worth a visit and we saw bats on the river at sunset. Our host the next morning cooked an excellent breakfast too.

Lunch was good we enjoyed the ambience in the dining area. Breakfast was very good, although the waitress forgot to put our order in therefore we had to wait nearly a hour! It was worth the wait though. Spa was great & the treatments we received excellent. Would highly recommend. Bathroom great size.

Although the room was very good it was a bit tired & could do with a freshen up ie the paintwork especially in the bathroom. The silicone needs attention as well as the grout in the tiles nothing worse than old stained bathroom. For the price of the room not great value no breakfast included.

The apartment was lovely and very clean. We’ve stayed at The Lawrence in York which had more of a wow factor and more spacious but we were still happy with our stay at The Lawrence Harrogate

Loved this hotel, one of the nicest I’ve stayed in. Restaurant was amazing and cocktails were incredible. Haven’t got a bad word to say. Close to the theatre and also the seafront.

Lovely location for my needs. Very comfortable room with bar and restraunt on location. Comfortable bed even though it was a single. Great shower pressure and views were stunning.

The noise from the kitchen below was a bit disturbing and the room was very light. If you want to go to bed early they need black out blinds. Breakfast was bland

there was a very pleasant bar area overlooking the garden for breakfast - the room was quite small but well equipped, quiet and comfortable. Good value for money

Everything! One of the nicest places I’ve stayed, very clean.

There weee no negatives. Only thing I can think of was that I requested a travel cot and we didn’t get one, but it didn’t impact our stay, she just slept in the bed instead and everything else made up for it.

Proximity to Lake Windermere.

Extremely overpriced. Tiny room, tuck your knees under sink to fit on toilet, men given free drinks on arrival. Food was awful and overpriced. £28 pound for this dish. When I asked about free beverages for men got a shrug and “oh well”!
