The location is close to the centre, whilst still being quiet. Our room was on the back of the building so away from the road at the front. The building is made up of several knocked into one, so a bit of a warren of corridors, but the room was very nicely decorated. We did expect a bigger bed, but that is because we had forgotten that UK Beds are generally smaller than on the continent. A King bed at around 150cm wide is narrower than our standard double back home. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were very attentive. Plus there was a welcome drink at the bar, great.

Note that there is no lift, so if stairs are an issue, get a room on the ground floor. The secure free carpark only has room for 8 cars, so we parked in a public car park about 5 minutes walk away. Free parking overnight, but coins needed from 8am, unless you get lucky and there is a space come free in the car park.

There is nothing I can fault about my stay at The Dewdrop Inn. My room was clean, warm, very comfortable and more than big enough for my needs. It has everything you need for an overnight stay - toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities in the room , a hair dryer, comfortable beds and so on. I visited the restaurant for dinner and had one of the nicest meals I have eaten in a long time. The staff are attentive, the decor is inviting and the whole stay was perfect for me. I shall certainly use the Dewdrop again.

The external pic on Booking.com is of the house next door. The building the apartment is in (along with several neighbouring buildings) looks run down. The ground floor window is part covered by overgrown shrubs in the small front garden which is maybe as well because the tea-coloured nets give the impression it is not lived in 🤷♀️ This apartment is at the top of the building is up five flights of stairs - and when you walk in through the door to the building, you notice the fire alarm hasn’t been serviced (or stickered as serviced) since April last year (not reassuring)

The lighting in the bedroom was shocking. I side lamp didn’t work and the other was so far away from the bedhead it was impossible to read a book without extending your arms out to the side(very uncomfortable)
