Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was hearty pub fare. Good selection of beers, including alcohol free. Breakfast was in the tearoom attached to the hotel and was very good. Note, it was not included in the accommodation price. Room was clean and the shower was hot and quite powerful. Two beds in the room, one double one single, were both four poster if you like that sort of thing. Dogs are welcome throughout all areas, which was a bonus. TV in the room had plenty of channels including HD.

This is not something that can be changed I guess, but the door at the foot of the stairs from the rooms is next to the gents toilet, so we were met with a bit of an unpleasant smell in the morning. Having had active days out we wanted early nights but were disturbed until gone 11pm by the noise from the pub below. On the second night there was a quiz and bingo with some music. At times it was like the chap with the mic was in the room with us. Be aware that this is a pub with accommodation and you'll be fine if that's what you want.

The home from home feel, having my own apartment, well-equipped and cosy. The location was perfect both for the sea views and the beach across the road; for walks, the shops and even a big supermarket nearby but hidden from sight.

The intermittent quite loud buzzing from the bathroom fan; no scourer for my scrambled egg saucepan. Velux blind with a life of its own, springing open unexpectedly.

Good communication, helpful with an early check in. Very clean and tidy has everything you need for a short stay. Nice area near places to eat and drink. Quite at night time to sleep. Good security and easy check in.

Views from windows close to other buildings so lack of privacy if blinds aren't closed.

The service was good, the food excellent. We had an evening meal that was very good & excellent value. The view from the garden at the front of the hotel was breathtaking

We upgraded to a superior room. The first impression was very poor. It as gloomy, with a sloping roof & a small window, blocked by the tv! Once we moved the tv to the floor, things improved, with more light & a good view. There were other minor problems, that were unreasonable, given the high price. There were very few sockets & one did not work. The table with the kettle on was too high - we had to use it on the floor. The shower heating was hard to control & varied during use. The door key was sometimes impossible to insert, & required much fiddling & resetting to get it in.

Very friendly welcome and customer service. Free upgrade on request. Spacious and comfortable room. Tram 2 mins away into Manchester centre.

Seal on shower didn’t reach the bath so water leaked onto the floor.
