  The room was lovely and clean I was upgraded to a bigger room The food was beautiful The grounds were also beautiful but I feel it could have been a bit more maintained The gym was well equipped with some good machines available The catering staff were always friendly and welcoming however the reception staff weren’t as inviting.

  The view wasn’t the best as it was a view of delivery vans and the bins. The spa was cold in general, no relaxing background music, the chairs were a weird shoe and wasn’t relaxing to lay on. I didn’t feel relaxed at all so that was disappointing as I was looking forward to be able to enjoy that.

  The hotel comes under the 'shabby chic' category as it is very old as can be seen by the architecture and old window frames. However it was comfortable and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

  Minor really- The indoor swimming pool has a flight of stairs that we had to use and my wife and I have trouble with stairs. There is a lift to the basement floor(-1) but the passageway from the lift to the swimming pool is reserved for 'staff only', clearly because of all the laundry stuff etc.. It would have been good not to have used the stairs!!

  On the surface, this place is cute, and you might be fooled into thinking it is semi clean. The bar is lovely and although I didn't eat the food it looked nice.

  Between tiles on the bathroom floor was so feral I didn't want to walk on it. Also the shower head was terrible with no water to the centre of it. The pool (the only reason we chose this place) didn't not allow the kids to attend given we arrived at 6pm and left at 6am. Also you must pay for the pool. The walls are paper thin so that at 10.30pm, not late for a Saturday but late for my kids, meant we heard the telly to the right of us, the people chatting to the left of us, and the people going back to their rooms in the hallway with clarity. There is no free WIFI in the rooms, common area (bar) only. It is soooo far away from any shops or service stations that you are limited to eating at the inn if you don't have a car.

  Good location for us, short walk to Shoreditch. Helpful doorman, clean room and nice bathroom. We only stayed one night and didn't take breakfast.

  Breakfast was the usual buffet style with a good choice, a little chaotic as squashed into a small space, especially around the drinks area.

  One person on check out , she was on the phone, as I needed a receipt this meant I was kept waiting quite a while. No biggy but others were also waiting.

  Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, excellent food, conveniently located to visit Hampton Court Palace in lovely area.

  This hotel is no exception by any means but I find the practise of adding a 12.5% service charge to the bill excessive. As residents we were given a 10% discount on food and drink which was negated by adding the charge to the bill. I understand it is optional but I feel it causes embarrassment to ask for it to be removed. As I say this hotel is by no means alone in this but I would prefer to leave my own tip.
