This was an ideal spot for my husband and I to stay for a 2-day wedding we were attending nearby. A very warm welcome received upon check in and was able to access our room early. A small room but functional for all our needs. Tea and coffee making facilities a bonus. Lovely location in the village of Talgarth. The value for money for this property was a real stand out.

The location was stunning and the room was finished to a very high standard, clean and with an amazing view out over the water. The welcome greeting was a lovely personal touch and we really enjoyed the breakfast selection. Lots of little touches that made the stay unforgettable.

Lovely flat, very comfortable and clean. Off street parking directly outside. Nice restaurants nearby. Main station not too far either. The owner was also easy to deal with and very responsive. It felt like the sort of flat I would like as my own!

All round it was very good. I initially struggled to find it as my car satnav didn’t have the postcode! I called the landlord and he told me it was opposite Pizza Express and then it was very easy to find.

Great location, spacy appartment, nicely furnished and well equipped. Communication with the flat manager went very well. We used the little supermarket next door and also the nearby pubs. But we also spent time together in the big living room.

After complaining about some stinky sour milk in the fridge that the housekeeping left there, we were offered a drink and were apologised to, the guy on the reception desk being upset was the only redeeming quality of the hotel.

We've found pubic hair in our bathroom around the edges of the floor (we were being open minded and did not complain), in the fridge we found sour old milk and bottle of water half drunk. Staff during breakfast were uninterested and unhelpful, they spent more time chatting and helping themselves to drinks rather than serving customers. Room was also very noisy as we could hear people in adjacent room talking or even going to the loo. At almost £200 per night this is a rip-off, extremely poor value for money, won't return to a Mercure hotel ever again.

Wifi was very slow and only seemed to work in reception (still slow) Few people behind reception but not always paying attention - usually in the back talking Breakfast was a bit chaotic and slow, they didn't seem to be able to cope with the number of guests My room had damp on the walls The lift did not work - they put a disabled lady on the third floor (I was on the fourth). They were also telling some customers they could not check in before 2/3pm and then someone else would arrive and they would check them in The carpet pattern is not good for people with sight problems or dementia

I thought the decor was depressing. Too ‘edgy’ and soulless. Also an enormous room but no door to bathroom area and no bath even though there was plenty of room. No offer of help with my luggage despite long staircase.
