Great location with a short walk to the Departures area at the airport - less than 10 mins. Great that we could leave the car there while we were away - no need to pre book it in, £10 per night. Pretty good bar food, though shame it stopped at 9.30pm but we managed. No breakfast as we had an early flight. Room was comfortable, and surprisingly quiet given we were at the front of the hotel.

Really nice and comfortable with plenty of space. Ideally located to explore Buxton and the local area. Great for the dogs with some excellent walks in the doorstep!

Second evening waitress was rude and very poor at her job. We ordered and ate our carvery then sat and waited. A table across from us then ordered and ate their meals (waitress chatting and laughing with them) we indicated we would like our bill (dirty plates still on table) the waitress cleared the other table, took their dessert order. They ate their desserts. My husband went to bar and ask them to organise our bill, advised waitress would be with us shortly. The other table was again cleared of dessert plates, our dirty dinner plates still on table! My husband again went to the bar and was given same response. Other table was presented with their bill. My husband again went to bar and paid our bill (without my blue light discount) our dirty plates still on the table. I went to bar and complained, was advised blue light discounts could now not be applied. Was told our breakfast for next day would be refunded. This didn’t happen either. We had booked as part of memory making week with our son, who had been given months to live because of a brain tumour, and his new wife. The whole stay was overshadowed by the rude and inconsiderate behaviour of staff whose job is surely to keep customers happy! We would not even consider returning to this establishment and would never recommend to others. We were sat at table 27 on evening of April 11th so I am sure that the waitress and person in charge that evening would be easily identified.
