Loved the location of this hotel as it was near to all the places we wanted to visit. Near to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, Muncaster Castle, Wastwater and Scafell Pike, and St Bees. The owners and staff were all amazing . They gave us such a warm welcome and looked after us from start to finish. The food was excellent.. Lovely garden with a river , just wish it had been warm enough to sit out. Very pleasant walk behind the hotel too.

Our room was at the back of the property so it was quiet, but it is on quite a busy road so some rooms could have been noisy. If being picky the bathroom fan was quite noisy, but otherwise everything was just great and we would come again.

Beautiful place. Bell tent was lovely and cosy and comfortable. Great bed and really nice to have the fire pit for cooking. Toilets were clean and showers hot. Site was beautiful and doesnt feel crowded. Right next to the Thames River path, so great for walking.

dinner poor, badly presented and served to me and expensive, nearly £19 for a poor quality burger. Breakfast ok but rather a surly member of staff, a simple smile costs nothing.

Very expensive compared to other hotels we stayed at around Scotland, very noisy as was Above bar, didn’t think plastic shower curtains were still used , floor was very creaky & uneven, felt like we was on a ship

The bathroom didn't have lighting, when we took a shower you needed to use the flashlights on your cell phones, the person responsible for the apartment said every day that the electrician was going to repair it and he never did. The lock on the main door of the apartment was broken, we always slept with the door leaning against it and during the day our things were left in the apartment with the door leaning against it, we informed the person in charge of the apartment, who said he was going there and never showed up. The bed linen had a bad smell. It doesn't seem reasonable to me to rent a house with these problems.
