When we arrived we found that we had been given a complimentary upgrade to the room we had booked. We have stayed at the Priory several times as it is very convenient for visiting family and all the rooms have been comfortable but this was exceptional, large airy, on the ground floor, our own garden and spacious on suite with bath and walk in shower. we wished we had been staying more than one night! Breakfast was delicious and well presented. All the staff we met were helpful and welcoming.

Good location but a little difficult to initially find, def needed Google maps. Nice and tidy and clean. Washer dryer very handy and appreciated the scones on arrival.

There was no hot water in either the kitchen or vanity taps. The shower has its on heater so was fine but to have no hot water for a week was very disappointing and inconvenient for washing up. We had to boil the jug every time to do dishes and no hot water in the bathroom. We notified the management 3 times by msg and never heard back from them and once by phone call but did not get any satisfaction in fixing the situation. Would be reluctant to book again unless there was an assurance this problem has been fixed. One does expect to have hot water when booking a property!!!

If not for the one man down right below my pod snoring for the entire night, I would have rated this hostel 10/10. Although it is not the hostel's fault in itself, snoring in a shared dorm does affect others sleeping quality hence their overall well-being for the next day.

Staff greeting was poor/ non existant with poor communication, there was no one to great us on arrival had to wait a while for someone to check us in, room needed a good clean dust on bedside tables and rubbish on carpet. Mattresses very poor, need replacing and no protectors on them just an old blanket. Breakfast was horrendous, only a few sausages available with a spoonful of beans when we arrived for breakfast, they did top it up but only with individual items at a time , so if you want to spend ages there eating individual items of a cooked breakfast at different times then would be okay, but poor quality food so we didnt bother. my daughter chose a pan au chocolate which was not edible due to it being stale. Dinning room also needs updating as not a nice place to sit and eat in. Thank god we were only there for one night.
