When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

The property was in a great location - Warkworth itself is beautiful with a lovely cafe/restaurant across from the apartment and a short walk to the village shop and a few pubs. The property was clean and spacious. It was easy to access and parking was just around the corner. The bed and sofas were comfortable. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Lovely old historic building with lovely views over the bay, and beyond. Breakfast was very good, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in room 32, which was fairly small (obviously half of an older, larger room that had been divided into two rooms at some point), and there was a very small (Juliet style) balcony outside our window and the window of the adjoining room. Only access was by climbing out of the old sash window, which we never attempted as the space is too small to sit out. The adjoining room appeared to be used by staff members from time to time, and the dividing wall is very thin, so it was quite noisy at times. The worst thing was having a member of staff climbing out of the window next door, and standing outside our window on two occasions! This is not something I would expect, especially being three floors up, and shows a complete disregard for customer privacy! The mattress was quite soft and bouncy , and the pillows were too firm, so we did not sleep particularly well.

Although communication with the owner was good… 4 hours before arrival we were told we were no longer able to park at the property. Even though 2 days before we’d been sent all the information of where to park etc. Would recommend looking for areas to park as we were also told there was 24 hour parking near by. There was not. we had to be up early after a late night to get back to the car park. before the time was up. Defeating the purpose of paying for a room really. Other wise i can’t really fault the location or the room… with the one exception of a delightful surprise waiting for us in the toilet … maybe better checks from the cleaner are required.

The rooms are really basic for the price you’re paying. The rooms could do with an upgrade and maybe some walls cleaned or even painted. They could also sorted out there plumbing as the shower was leaking in our room (it was small leak but still should be addressed). The beds should be upgraded as they were creaking and really uncomfortable, it was like sleeping on stones. If they are not going to lower the price then maybe renovations so be done to keep up with the cost of the rooms

Tv does not work (think it’s a WiFi issue) WiFi is also very poor It’s far too hot (temperature was 22 c outside, so really no reason for it to be so hot in the property) No tea towels Only 1 small towel per person. Check in time was inflexible Why is check out time so early given no one came to clean the property that time?!

Fabulous view.

Menu is pure Greene King pub food. Burgers, fish and chips, steak, etc. When we stay at a hotel we expect something a bit more interesting. The food was not cooked well. Our steaks were incredibly tough. The man next to us complained about his chicken. Someone else complained that they had been waiting nearly an hour. Even at breakfast the scrambled egg was dried out and the mushrooms were a strange dry texture. The antique toaster was a challenge but after a couple of burnt slices we got the hang of it. The rooms with a view were comfortable enough but are very dated. Boiling hot water but no mixer tap made washing hazardous.
