  We enjoyed our short stay at The Crown. The staff were excellent, helpful, friendly, and eager to please. The room was great, comfortable bed and spacious enough for 2 people. The leisure facilities were good, enjoyed a swim at the lovely pool. We had a meal in the bar one night, which was tasty and wholesome, and breakfast was excellent. Location is great, 5 minutes walk from railway station and 8 mins on train to Carlisle. Lots of nice walks locally. On site parking and nice gardens but too wet to sample them.👍

  My only criticism would be lack of hanging space. The weather while we were there it was very wet. There were no coat hooks on the back of the door or in the bathroom to hang wet coats and outdoor clothes and we didn't want to hang them in the wardrobe beside dry, unworn clothes. So maybe a hook or 2 would be good.

  The property was full of character and lots of quirky features. We had a balcony that overlooked the garden which was well maintained and included an outside bar. the staff were very friendly and accommodated our request for an early check in so that we could get changed before attending a wedding. Breakfast was great with good quality products. The car park included electric charge points for those guests who needed it.

  Excellent stay in relation with catching a ferry to Port Ellen early in the next morning - so the location is ideal for this. Room very clean and comfortable. Not able to take advantage of breakfast because of early timing of the ferry.

  Both bedroom & bathroom - lovely decor & very clean, warm & comfortable. Added bonuses = balcony with great view, fridge, complimentary porridge, croissants & bottled water. Finally - an absolute bargain!

  Only marked down slightly as 10-15 mins drive from centre but then you wouldn't get the views and peace & quiet. And the mattress was a little hard. Saying that I would definitely stay there again. It was lovely.
