We were moved into a caravan park because of some issues with the previous guest in the chalet who had to extend the stay. I never stayed in the static caravan before, there was nothing wrong as such with it, but in future would not be my preferred choice. The caravan was pretty much the same size of the chalet booked, fairly clean and furnished. at the same time they tend to be humid. The heating system was pretty good, but once turned off the lose warmth.

I had been travelling for 6 weeks at that stage, moving around for work and staying in few holiday homes. More than once I had this same problem, that sorry but I now have to mention. Having ONE sharp knife in a kitchen, which is not a bread knife, not a meat knife, not a salami knife, and not even sharp, DOES NOT MAKE A KITCHEN.

It is a beautiful cottage, well presented and very modern but with a classic feel. The garden and hot tub are superb and very private. Really good location, just off the A1. I look forward to staying in the future.

My only criticism would be that we could have done with some extra towels, as coming in and out of the hot tub and bathing, leaves you a little short with just one per guest. An extra tea towel wouldn't go a miss as well. But next time, we'll just take some.

Everything was amazing. My family and I enjoyed our stay in their historical house so much. The hosts were friendly, the breakfasts were simply but very delicious, and the room was really comfortable.

Bathroom was very clean and all cleaned again with fresh towels for our second night. We asked for extra blanket and pillow which was delivered super quick.

Our room was on the second floor and we wasn’t aware there was no Lift prior to booking and the second set of stairs were very steep- not great with a big bag and bad knees. The room Is very dark as lighting is rubbish amd decor dark and also only a small window that curtains don’t open much- also room was very hot and no fan . The noise from the big kitchen chimney was loud also as our room backed onto it. Room was smaller than expected. No milk or tea bag’s in tray also on first night. Beds pretty hard also. Sadly wouldn’t come back as not particularly goood value.

When we checked in we were told we had complementary breakfast for 2. When we arrived for breakfast we were not on the list for the free breakfast, so had a coffee and set out on the road.

Toilet was dirty with remnants of last guests smeared up toilet bowl, not ckeaned. My partner did point it out to concierge who appeared horrified and aplologetic. Breakfast was incomplete ie beans sausages scrambled eggs - but i always have tomatoes and mushrooms and avoid beans
