We were made to feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and there was a good choice. Best poached eggs my husband has ever had. Off road parking at the rear of the property was a bonus as the house is situated on a rush hour busy roundabout. Restaurants for an evening meal are within easy walking distance though it is advisable to book in advance. Steam railway just ten minutes walk away.

Our room was on the second floor,which meant a lot of stairs to climb, something to consider if you have a 'dodgey' knee as I do. There is no lift. The house is a large old building, parts of which could benefit from updating.

Ideal for a short stay, communication with owners was good which made the stay more enjoyable. The property has a small back yard which was nice to sit out in when we got there. The house was clean and well furnished with everything you should need. Joanne and Kenny emailed with suggests where to walk and eat which we did and was very nice. Perfect hosts and would recommend anyone to stay here.

My room was upgraded, which was fantastic. I loved the continental breakfast delivered to my door each morning - really great idea. The air-conditioning was fabulous as well as windows that open; really helps in muggy weather. Shower was great, room was brilliant, comfy bed, extra pillows, all was brilliant with my room & happily stay again.

I specifically chose Seraphine as it had a lift as I have mobility issues - without any prior notice, the lift was out of service & had to climb 8 flights of stairs to my room. Admittedly, reception carried my bags to help, but what if a completely immobile customer in a wheelchair had checked in. Notice should've been given prior to booking. Also, I paid a very high rate to stay, yet on the day of check-in, the same room was well under half the price I paid just 3 days previously. I got an upgrade, but I think if I hadn't, I'd be pretty upset!

The ten/fifteen minute constant battle to open bedroom door every time you require access then going back to reception for a replacement as the key card did not fuction properly due to the locks being so old and worn. A very frustrating experience.
