The hotel was set in beautiful grounds, which made for a perfect getaway. It was also in a great location for accessing some of the best parts of Suffolk by car. The hotel itself was spacious, with plenty of areas outside and inside to sit and relax. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast, which was included with the booking, was excellent. The gym was absolutely superb with fantastic modern equipment and was just the right size for a hotel gym.

Overall, we expected more for a hotel in that price category. The room itself was not much different to what you could get at a Premier Inn at a much cheaper rate. Particularly irritating was the noise in the rooms - the walls were clearly thin and you could hear people talking/the television in the next room. We had also booked the hotel to use the swimming pool, only to find this closed for ongoing repairs. We didn't eat at the restaurant because we felt the menu was limited and pricey - we found better options elsewhere.

I eventually stayed there on my own as my husband had to stay in hospital following surgery. It was very well situated, comfortable, surprisingly quiet and clean. I enjoyed my stay and it was within walking distance of Moorfields.

It was up 5 flights of stairs, this didn't bother me. Only one teaspoon, it could do with more. Bed linen and towels were provided, could have done with a tea towel, as well. Really, only minor quibbles.

Would have liked some additional dessert bowls and a few more ladles, though. Also a customer had written about a broken blind in the front room and broken shower knob in the bathroom way back in May. The same is yet to be rectified. Further there are no mirrors in the entire house other than the bathroom, which is very inconvenient. Further the way the apartment is described, it seemed as if there was a separate toilet and one private bathroom. However, there is just one large bathroom with a bathtub and a toilet. It was slightly misleading. The apartment has a large balcony, that can be better used with seating or a barbecue set. However it is under-utilised at present.

The rooms are very outdated, the beds very uncomfortable (me or my partner would move and it would jerk the other awake as it was very springy), the room itself didnt feel or look clean especially the bathroom, there were 4 plug sockets for a family room (we had to bring our milk machine and steriliser for our 4 month old so was juggling with plugs throughout stay), car parking permits were rather expensive for a whole weeks stay (other properties offered these free when we last stayed so not sure why we had to pay £8 for the exact same slip this time around).

Lacking basic maintenance. Fridge faulty and stained, shower faulty, toilet seat loose as was glass shelf over bathroom sink. Table damaged. Drawers kept getting stuck, cracked crockery. Very hot, needs a fan.
