The Trout at Tadpole Bridge is in a lovely setting! Our room was in a courtyard. It was very spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. The staff were very helpful. There were many thoughtful extras....eg: a welcome letter and info folder, a bottle of iced cold water on arrival,(there were also bottles of water in the room), different teas and fresh coffee, fresh milk, plenty of lovely toiletries.... The evening meal food was good however the poached eggs, smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce at breakfast was the best ever!

I didn't have breakfast as I had a very early workday to get to. My room was large and en-suite - plenty of outlets for electronic charging, tea kettle w/tea, coffee, TV, nice toiletries and soft towels. The bed was comfortable. David and Helen were great hosts, very friendly and accommodating.

One improvement might be a fan in the bedrooms - it wasn't an issue as it cooled down at night but in the heat of summer this would be a plus.

A comfortable cottage in a very quiet rural location with spectacular views over open farmland to the rear surrounded by wildlife. Owners very friendly and welcomed us personally. They were always available.

There is currently no internet connection at the property which was not a major problem for us but could be off-putting for some. It is understood that this situation will be rectified soon.

Review of Cumberland Hotel, Bournemouth by Ian Smith My family and I recently stayed six nights at the Cumberland Hotel in Bournemouth. While our visit had some positive aspects, several issues significantly impacted our overall experience. Our room was very nice and well-appointed, which made our initial impression quite positive. However, we encountered a major problem with the air conditioning unit, which made a very loud dripping noise whenever it was windy outside. I reported this issue to a member of staff, who essentially told me that there was nothing he could do due to the wind. He did not offer us another room and said that, basically, we would have to put up with the noise until the wind stopped. Consequently, during our stay, we had to endure two full days of irritating noise from the air conditioning unit. Additionally, I requested to speak with a manager regarding this issue, but unfortunately, I received no response at all. This lack of attention to guest concerns is not acceptable. Another significant issue was with the hotel's lift. On multiple occasions, the lift's alarm sounded while we were inside, indicating that help was on its way. This can be very distressing, especially for elderly guests, and suggests that the lift may be faulty or in need of maintenance. Despite these issues, I must commend the staff, who were amazing throughout our stay. Their friendliness and professionalism were much appreciated. Additionally, the food at the hotel was fantastic, which added great enjoyment to our stay. One suggestion for improvement would be to place a television in an area where guests can sit and have a quiet drink. We had to go to the next hotel to watch TV during our stay, which was inconvenient. Overall, while the room itself was comfortable and the staff and food were excellent, the unresolved noise issue with the air conditioning and the distressing lift alarms were significant drawbacks to o

Nobody there to greet us on arrival. A neighbour called with a key 20 minutes after check in time of 4pm. Room was freezing cold and no means of heating available. Large dirty stains on the carpet. No one there to offer a drink at the bar or to take a breakfast order. The place is very run down. Beer garden is full of weeds and rubbish. Someone arrived next morning but by that time we had formed our opinion of the place which was not good. We were discouraged from purchasing either meals or drinks and went down the road to another pub for this. Would definitely not stay here again.
