How does it work?

  • 1

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

That kind of service extended to all staff we interacted with”

  • Casa da Ribeira Cottage

    - “The apartment is clean and cosy and has blackout curtains and fly screens (for windows and doors) which we appreciated. Furthermore there is a nice private terrace and shared garden. We didn't meet João in person, but communication via Booking went very smoothly. Also the self check-in is very easy. As for parking: there are a few places in the driveway, but there also is a convenient public parking space nearby where we parked our car every night. The apartment is located in a quiet street, but is still pretty close to the city center (1.5km - 2km) where you can find all necessary supermarkets, restaurants, ... And it's also located quite central on São Miguel which makes it the ideal base to explore the entire island.”

Location is perfect, right next to the bullring and pretty much close to everywhere you need to visit centrally. Staff are always friendly and welcoming, the hotel is clean, nice rooms with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is good and reasonably priced. This is my go to hotel to stay in Birmingham.

    • Negative section of review

There is no mini fridge in the deluxe double rooms, not the biggest issue but when you are staying for a few nights in summer, this would really help. The other issue is that the hotel has a deal with Selfridges / moor street car park, this is around 10 mins walk away, so be prepared for that. Not an issue for me, but maybe slight inconvenience for those with lots of baggage and young kids etc

The location was excellent, the view amazing, the beds comfortable, and the penthouse was extremely cleanly, spacious, and attractive.

    • Negative section of review

The penthouse was extremely warm. The thermostats kept registering the 24 degrees of the room, even though they were turned down to 18 degrees. It was not nearly that warm outside.

Excellent location and breakfast. Lovely room and staff. Would definitely visit again.

Only minor thing which may annoy some people. My room/window was above the kitchen extractor fan, which was switched on between the hours of 7am and 9pm. Some people may find the background noise annoying. But not all rooms would be affected by this.
