St Giles London – A St Giles Hotel, hotel in London

Located in London’s West End, less than 5 minutes’ walk from Tottenham Court Underground Station and Oxford Street shops is the St Giles.

Upon entry to the hotel, staff were lovely and friendly. We checked into our room, and it was small but still spacious and just enough for what we wanted. We noticed we had a stain on our bed sheets, so we went and spoke to reception. They were very apologetic and said they would get the sheets changed, which they did straight away. We went to the restaurant in the evening and had 2 pizzas we took them away to our room. Breakfast in the morning was buffet style. Everything was cooked well and plenty of food at all times. Check out at 11 am, which was nice, and gave us time to chill in the morning before leaving. Would definitely stay again, even with the parts that weren't the best.

Nestled between the River Thames and St Katherine’s Dock, and next to Tower Bridge, The Tower Hotel, London offers ideal location, a restaurant, a bar and a fitness centre.

The room had a great view and was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a large variety of foods and drinks. Taxis were readily available and waiting outside. The concierge was very helpful and showed us how to get to the London Bridge Experience by walking across the bridge. There was a drink and snack area in the lobby which was very handy on the evenings we arrived back very late to the hotel.

London has so much to see and do.

London has so much to see and do. Unfortunately at the time of our visit it was very very busy with tourists so if you wanted to enter any of the attractions (i.e. Westminster Abbey, British Museum) you had to wait in long lines. Also, it is quite expensive. Entry fees, drinks, dining. If you do hop on hop off, which I would suggest, use Big Bus, or City Sightseeing. We used another company and had to wait while many Big Buses and City Sightseeing buses passed by!

It is good to experience the busy streets, underground & trains. Using a contactless card is the best way to pay on the trains & underground or an Oyster card which can be purchased when you get there. Depending on the zones you travel through and the time of day will depend on way you pay, but there is a daily cap on how much you will be charged. Will work out cheaper than a daily single ticket.

London is an amazing place to visit.

London is an amazing place to visit. I have visited London several times and never tire of it. I was quite worried about using the tubes on my first visit but all the staff at the tube/railway stations were so polite and helpful I didn’t need to worry at all. I stayed for 3 nights and each time could have stayed longer! I love the theatre and have watched Wicked, Harry Potter and the cursed child and on my last visit Mamma Mia, Amazing! I’ve been to Kew Gardens and you can get the tube and then a very short walk to it. The parks are lovely, Museums are great, walk along the Thames is a must so is the Cheesecake in Harrods at £5 a slice, there are plenty of Wetherspoons to eat and drink too, as well as all kinds of restaurants. China Town has fab cakes and do all you can eat buffets. Camden market is fab and huge. Tower of London is worth a visit. If you go to London you need to see the obvious Buckingham Palace and if you walk down The Mall you come to Trafalgar Square and then everything is close by, there are maps on posts which are easy to read and follow, they even show you where tube stations are and bus stops. There are homeless people obviously like most towns and cities but they have never made me feel uncomfortable. On Tower Bridge there are usually scammers with 3 cups and a ball,”follow the cup with the ball under it and you win money” you don’t win it’s a scam! Overall I love London and will be going again next year! Hope you found this helpful 😁

London is a city with plenty of attractions - museums, parks (squirrels, ducks etc.), architecture, events, entertainment options. Metro is the best way to travel in the London, but it may be a bit confusing with the payment options - you can pay with the smart card, have a metro card, or buy tickets in the ticket machine (seems to be much more expensive than other options, but with the smart card you can buy ticket only for one person). If you are a fan of Harry Potter you should reserve a day to visit Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour (4 hours will not be enough!), just outside London, near Watford Junction station. And make sure to visit some old towns outside of London to witness the beautiful English country-side.

The hotel is basically built over a road, so if you are unlucky enough to get a room on the first three floors you may be stuck in a bizarre manoeuvre to access the front door. It is also tricky to find the front door, one could find oneself roaming around the wrong building in an effort to find an open door or the entrance. The lobby is quite subtle amongst the buildings in the area.. looks like an office lobby with minimal signage. But once inside, it is very nice and the breakfast buffet is terrific by London standards.

First time we stayed, we booked the cheapest and the smallest room with no window. That was a bit claustrophobic but worth the money. Second time we stayed I managed to secure an upgrade which was nice. Best thing about this hotel is location. Paddington is great to stay in as there are great food places near by, train goes straight to Heathrow Airport, train goes to all the great things you want to see in London and it's in 1 zone so cheap. I also felt safe in Paddington.

We love being a short walk to Paddington for the access to the Heathrow Express and several tube lines. (There's an elevator on the side of Paddington that's a block from the hotel.) We stayed at a hotel "in" Paddington and paid $160/day more. For $160, we can walk a block. Our room was a little small but we basically just slept and showered there. It's not why we went to London. The price was very competitive for the location and the service was fine.

Very comfortable and clean, great staff.Rooms need abit more updating, no saving mirror in the bathroom, no mirror on the office desk to do your hair and make-up so had to either stand up in the bathroom or sit on the floor by the wardrobe. It would have been a good idea to have a hotel channel on the TV to promote all the hotels facilities, restaurant, breakfast, hire cars and what London has to offer.

Loved the theme of the decor in the hotel and our room. everything was in good shape and functioning well. we had seen some old reviews about the rooms being hot, but the room had air con and the window opened for a good breeze so the room was a great temp. Good location to things we planned to do. The hotel had an elevator which many in London/England do not. overall would definitely stay here again.

This is one of those small London hotels converted from apartments. So more a series of rooms than a normal 'hotel'. No dining, bar or leisure facilities. More a 'room for the night'. Rooms are very compact, especially the bathroom but modern and clean and fine for one night. Great location near King's Cross station. Good value for money.
