The famous sightseeings and loads of memorials were impressive. The white house itself was a bit disappointing because it was surrounded by big fences (temporarily). Also, you can't come very close and due to the distance it looks small. If you want to make photos of the memorials and buildings without people: go early in the morning!
The metro connections are great as well.

If you're interested in politics, history and art,...
If you're interested in politics, history and art, Washington is a great destination. Nearly all the museums are free and the exhibitions are well curated.
The architecture is great for a city that is approx 250 years old. Grand buildings line the central Mall where most of the Smithsonian museums reside.
Notable visits included Arlington Ceremony to see the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier, lunch in Georgetown; a prettier suburb of Washington, The American Indian Museum was very informative and educational.
The Capitol Hill Tour and a visit to the public gallery in the House of Representatives showed us some of the workings of the US Government.
Galleries included the National Gallery and the Portrait Gallery - lots of variety of artwork from across the world and different genres.

Green city with lots to see. Much less manic than New York. Washington has leafy avenues the National Mall , White House, Capitol Hill and lots more. Good Metro and buses to get you to sights but watch out for events which close streets.

The location of the hotel is a short walk to the White house and other attractions. Tons of transportation near and around the hotel. So for people that dont drive its a blessing. The metro train stops right next to the hotel. The park across the street from the hotel has bus stops on every corner of the park. Every 5 or 6 blocks there is a park. Sightseeing and tour buses are short walk from the hotel. The cafes and restaurants are on the expensive side but the sandwiches at the Tatte cafe are delicious.

Location was great, front desk super friendly, roomy for a moderately cheap D.C. hotel room, was surprised, but I was only there for the night and the thing that counted was the bed. The "superior queen room" felt like a double bed. We decided to bite it for one night, but had a tough time sleeping. I guess not their fault unless it's actually a double bed, then shame shame. Parking is self service and 36 a night. I found street parking, 12am-7am isn't enforced. The area isn't that bad, it's just D.C....you know.
I loved their decor, classy with quirky historic vibes. I especially loved the closeness to the Capital Building which we were able to take a nice night time walk to. Parking lot across the street is much cheaper than hotel. Room provides with 2 bottles of complimentary water which is great. Room was very clean. They allow dogs to stay which we loved since we travel with ours.
The location is excellent, there are several ways to easily get there, by car or metro. The room was very comfortable, the bed and pillows were the best. Even though the hotel is undergoing renovation, the cleanliness was impeccable. All staff, from reception to housekeeping, very friendly and polite. Without a doubt it will be a hotel to return when visiting Washington again.
It was a good stay, posting this for information purpose. Mainly went to go to watch the Wizards game & it was only a 5 minute walk so that was a plus. They charge $100 security deposit per night just for the people wondering. & It’s a parking lot across the street that’s cheaper then what the hotel charge. It was nice & clean. Didn’t stay for breakfast or anything.
Location was great; near metro. Near downtown. I liked the staff; very friendly. I liked the lobby music--funky. I liked the decor--warm and unique--not at all like a hotel. I liked the rooms. First time I have played a record in 30 years. I liked the breakfast restaurant and the restaurant. I liked the price. Amazing value for all I have described.
Snazzy, stylish, and budget-friendly hotel in Dupont. It's not right in the center of the action but it was a short and cheap Uber ride to main areas, and the price is so good that it far outweighed the additional Ubers. They also issue $25 of credit to spend at their incredible cocktail bar to offset DC's annoying room taxes!
This hotel was, for the price paid, exactly what you'd expect. It did the job in providing a clean, comfortable place to stay that was relatively close to the centre. Slightly dated, but again for the price I was willing to pay for Washington DC, it was exactly what was needed and served me well.
The hotel is centrally located in Washington DC. The check-in was professional und efficient. I even got a upgrade. The room was located on the 5th floor. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would like to come back.
This place is consistently a great experience. It is clean, comfortable and boasts a friendly staff. Not the fanciest hotel I have experienced but after numerous stays to visit my daughter at Foggy Bottom, I prefer it to all the others including the nearby Marriott.
The hotel was in a perfect location to what we were doing in Washington, it was easy to walk anywhere or access transit when needed. Our room and bed was comfortable and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great bar and restaurant.
The location was conveniently located near Union Station and other major destinations. The hotel was spectacularly clean, had great amenities, and a wonderful lounge for hot cocoa. I also loved the cozy room and the Dubliner Restaurant.
They cancelled my booking due to a power cut, relocated me, and still charged me despite the new hotel being significantly cheaper. Never answered the phone or replied to emails. Dreadful.
Location, near metro and buses. Walking distance to the mall and museums. Convenient in/out parking. Staff was courteous and kind. Price was great for the location.
