Cottage Lea's Country Hotel & Restaurant, hotel in Pickering

Set within 2 acres of beautiful gardens, Cottage Lea's Country Hotel features an on-site restaurant and elegantly furnished bedrooms.

Beautiful location overlooking the dales, breakfast was beautifully cooked. The staff were exceptionally accommodating to the needs of my elderly mother, and dietary requirements of my wife, couldn’t have done more.

The Black Swan Inn, hotel in Pickering

Located 3.1 mi from Flamingo Land Theme Park in Pickering, The Black Swan Inn features a restaurant and free WiFi. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free private parking is available on site.

We loved the Black Swan! The service was outstanding. I travelled every week for work before covid and I have seldom had better service anywhere in the world I've been. Definitely the best service I've had in any hotel in the UK. I have mobility issues and while the Swan has no lift the staff couldn't do enough to help with bags etc., Good free parking behind the pub with plenty of parking spots. Breakfast was very good, best I've had in a while. The only drawback was dinner was not as good as the breakfast. Bar staff are very friendly. Lots of locals come in so you know it's good. The location is perfect with a short walk to any shops and to Pickering station (NYMR). We plan on coming back later in the year.

The property neede a good clean . Cobwebs dirty skirting boards Toilet brush I won’t even go there!! One of limited saucepans was unusable ( inside was burnt black) Towels was so thin they didn’t dry you ( would have been better to ask visitors to bring their own) We visited Beckhouse and stayed in several diffemt cottages and on two occasions hired with friends the farmhouse all of those visits were fantastic so hence the disappointment on this occasion. Needless to say we won’t be going back again

We stayed in Thornton Le Dale a couple of miles outside. This location is ideal in that it is within easy reach of most local attractions and also the coast. Plenty of pubs, cafes and independent shops.

Nice little market town with plenty of places to eat in the evenings, even in the winter. It is a good centre for visiting other places nearby and it has the main attraction of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

    Clean tidy and relaxing.

Clean tidy and relaxing. The birds at the pond were lovely to see. Even saw a kingfisher. Hot tub was very nice and they even turned up the temperature to meet our preference. The hot tub was checked and attended to promptly ever day of our stay. I know Pickering very well as my daughters lives there. We used the site as a place to relax and be with my family after loosing my brother few weeks before. My husband had also retired that weekend so we wanted to be close to our family. All our needs were met but could have done with few more cooking dishes and trays as we did not want to go out to eat. Would recommend the site to others.

Beautiful town. The NYR is a real tourist attraction.

Beautiful town. The NYR is a real tourist attraction. The stops are interesting and mostly independent! Parking is plentiful! Pickering is a fabulous base to explore the moors! Just 20 minutes to Whitby, 20 miles to York. Plenty of places to eat, lovely cafes and pubs! Don’t forget to visit the Castle. Scarborough is a 30 minute drive. People in the town are very friendly and the shops are very welcoming of dogs. Pickering is a real gem of a town! Flamingo Land theme park is about 10 mins from Pickering.

Parking brilliant at the back of the property, we left our car there for the day with permission of the black swan no food served on Thursday but in the centre of Pickering so fine easy to find somewhere to eat Bedroom a little out of the way not good if not able to use the stairs but worth the walk, Netflix free, internet all free, mini bar in the room if you want to make sure of it, room is a good size, ensuite is next door to you bedroom within the 'suite' would stay again

The location and parking were excellent - the NYMR Pickering Station is just 5 minutes walk away. The breakfast was served in the conservatory and was virtuously faithful to the positive reviews (enormous tea pots a hit). The rooms were spacious and clean - they'd actually been redecorated just weeks before our stay. Staff all friendly and knowledgeable. An experience at a good price. It's just how a small hotel should be run.

We loved being able to use the fireplace. We were in The Tack Room and it's a very well laid out cottage. It's comfortable, homely and cosy; perfect for a couple to stay in. It's walking distance to everything in Pickering and it's a relatively short drive to York, Whitby and other coastal towns. You can also get to Dalby Forest and other lovely places pretty easily for a nice walk which we liked.

The accomodation was on the 1st floor above a lovely bakery, opposite Pickering train station (heritage line), it was super clean and had a fabulous dining kitchen, cosy living room and bedroom in the loft. All rooms furnished to a high standard and plenty of room for a couple. We really enjoyed our stay.
