FAQs about hotels in Bristol

From Brunel to Banksy!

Britain’s 4th most popular visitor destination, Bristol features Brunel’s magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge spanning the Avon River. More Brunel handiwork is in the harbor, where his SS Great Britain steamship is moored. Pirate walks here detail the city’s underground naval history.

Further north in Clifton is the world’s oldest zoo outside a capital city. Other Bristol attractions include At-Bristol Museum and the Grade I registered historic Corn Exchange with its 4 "nails" outside where money changed hands. Also worth a visit is St. Nicholas Market, in a Georgian square home to several bars and a Slow Food Market on the 1st Sunday of every month. Other Bristol shopping options include shopping centers at Cabot Circus, and Cribbs Causeway on the outskirts.

As a student city, Bristol really comes to life after dark. The live music scene here is fantastic and has given way to several internationally known bands, but for something more alternative head to Eastside.

Another option for alternative-seekers is the work of hometown street artist Banksy. Just like Booking.com’s Bristol accommodations, his work is spread throughout this fabulous city.

This Gateway to the West Country is served by Bristol Airport and Temple Meads train station. The old Bristol to Bath rail line is now a cycle route and makes a great day trip.

Has a great vibe about it especially by the Waterfront with all the Galleries and bars etc. Clifton is walkable from this Hotel but be prepared for steep streets! Cabot Centre has lots of restaurants and shopping mall. Train and bus stations are easy to get to and on a few minutes walk away.

Bristol is such a lovely city.

Bristol is such a lovely city. Visit the Cathedral, take the epic "Blackbeard to Banksy" guided tour (and search for street art during every single walk in the centre) and visit the Cabot tower (109 steep, twisting steps lead to stunning views across Bristol). Walk across the suspension bridge which spans the River Avon (a stunning piece of engineering!). Dining is great in the shipping containers CARGO on the waterfront, home to a host of independent eateries (we loved the Indian street food at Bandook kitchen). Flying out of the Bristol Hot Air Balloon Fiesta with over 100 hot air balloons is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We stayed in the floating harbour area of Bristol which is busy and has a vibrant night life. It is also pretty central for getting to Bristol old centre and the shops. Walking and cycling is very easy around the city - special bike lanes and lots of bikes and scooters to hire. Great choice of restaurants within walking distance - we ate at COR and Box E. Both were excellent.

We stopped off in Bristol for the night on our way to Pembrokeshire from Brighton. I would definitely recommend a stay in Bristol. In our short time we walked along the River Avon to see Banksy's Girl with Pearl Earring and the scenic Clifton Suspension bridge. The Clifton area of Bristol is beautiful with Georgian mansion houses alongside wide roads. We popped into the lovely Greville Smyth Park where my 14 year old (and I) had a play in the playground.

Room very small but clean and adequate. Room in a quiet part of the hotel but very noisy guests. High level of noise in public parts of the hotel. Road and building works made it difficult to find. Early morning (8am) pavements were filthy around hotel, refuse. Nice bar, helpful personnel. Good to find parking, but difficult to access and small spaces. Altogether useful to have a hotel in Bristol city centre,.

This is a fantastic hotel that exceeded all expectations, especially for the price. We used it as a place to stay on the way to Devon so its location for that was fantastic but would stay again to visit Bristol as what you save on accommodation is worth it for the short journey in to the city centre Clean and comfortable with nice additions like snacks and drinks and a pool and sauna.
