The beach is at the end of the high street in Broadstairs which is perfect for picking up any last minute amenities along the way. I visited the Turner Museum for the first time & I found travelling backwards & forwards from Broadstairs station to Margate a few times (forgetful me) really easy & I'm not sure if this would have been any easier by car so its a 👍 for the railways.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Broadstairs is a hidden gem. I’m eighty now but first went when I was five and beyond. I then took our young children for many years - and we still go back - and now my granddaughter has joined the fan club! So many Kent/Surrey people don’t know about Broadstairs. Love Canterbury and the Cathedral.
Love Canterbury and the Cathedral. Some good pubs and unique shops. Great gardens at the bottom of town but this time Pride weekend was on and the city was a tad too busy. Rye is a nice afternoon out and the Fish Restaurant at Webbes is very good. Whistable is a typical English seaside town and great for fish and oysters. Lots of places to visit within 30-40 minutes of Canterbury.
Lots of places to visit within 30-40 minutes of Canterbury. Dover castle was really good. We played golf at Leeds Castle golf course which is fabulous, great views, quite a challenge but so worth £18 for 9 holes and Stonelees golf course near Sandwich. Again a really good course, staff are really friendly and we had a lovely lunch there too. The staff in the golf shop were very helpful and friendly too. We went to this area to visit some English Heritage properties while we had a years membership. Warmer Castle is well worth a visit with unexpectedly beautiful gardens. The castle also is full of history. The Kings Head on Deal seafront is a great place to drink (sat outside overlooking the seafront) and food wise it is also excellent.Guest review byLinUnited Kingdom
