The breakfast was amazing with the most delicious options we’ve seen anywhere. Rooms comfortable and clean. The free off street parking was nice, although a bit crowded, easily solved because we parked upon arrival and walked to the train station every day to visit Munich city sights.

FAQs about hotels in Munich

Beyond Oktoberfest

Renowned for its stunning architecture and the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, Munich needs little introduction. Its vibrant cultural scene, great shopping and fantastic museums speak for themselves.

Munich has something for everyone: from historic palaces and castles, to stunning royal avenues to world class galleries and museums. Don't miss the new city hall, or Glockenspiel, in the heart of Marienplatz or the former residence of the Bavarian kings, the Residenz. Munich is also home to the world’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus.

For great shopping, Karlsplatz is a pedestrian zone which takes up much of the city centre and the upscale area around Maximilianstrasse is yet another commercial wonderland. Munich is famous for its food too, so make sure you try the local Weißwurst, Leberkässemmeln and other popular pork dishes.

Thanks to efficient S-Bahn train, getting to the city center from Germany’s second busiest airport, Munich International Airport is quick and easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, youth hostels or comfortable apartments, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Munich visit.

Sunday early evening perfect time to visit Munich centre. Must see - interior of St Michael church, and Munich Dom for Vespers with Organ and young chorister, followed by evening meal at Rathaus and Ratskeller with Bavarian music and local elderly folk dancing.

An enjoyable time in my short stay.

An enjoyable time in my short stay. People are friendly, and there is no rush as you find in the big cities. Great place to visit. The Hop on, hop off buses are great. However, be wary as when they return to their start, they tend to then change to a different route. For example, if you hop on partway through their route, when they get back to their starting point, check with the bus driver if the route will continue or if you need to hop on another bus. The staff are helpful and friendly but just be aware of this.

Three different routes on the hop-on bus!

Three different routes on the hop-on bus! Enough things to do to keep you busy for about 3 days. Lots of good food options and the English gardens!. Great Museum options if that's your thing. The tourist shopping street was a bit too much for me and crowded. Easy access from the Bahnhof into the core area. The NS historical stuff is a little spooky but that's all in the past.

Munich centre is always full of people, even on Sunday with all shops closed, its packed with people eating and drinking and watching the glockenspiel show on the town hall clock tower. The Beer kellers are fantastic, there are terrace cafes and resaurants eveywhere. No cars near the city centre. The locals all eat and drink in the centre, its not just tourists. The market is brilliant. All the Beer gardens are fabulous. The public transport is cheap and amazingly good (9.60 euro per day for bus+tram+underground). bus, tram, underground all arrive every few minutes and late into the night. You will never need a taxi/uber! My favourite city in Germany so far. Englisher Garten is a massive park full of beer gartens! The people are pretty freindly. Beats Berlin and Hamburg and they are pretty amazing.

We were only in Munich for a day and a half and just could not fit it all in without it being chaotic. Great restaurants and shopping and a lot to do in the city itself, not to mention to easy connectivity to other great spots (Nuremberg, southern Bavaria, Regensburg, Rothenburg and historic sites like Dachau). I would have loved to have had 4 days for the city itself.

A last minute stopover in Munich made me find this hotel, I give and advice about I would arrive late, so they call me to give me the instructions for the auto check-in and to get the key room. Breakfast was very good, even the area where is located is very calm and well connected to the city centre by bus, tram or just walking (lovely walk 20 min).
