I was working there so didn't have much choice about where I was, but it's an historic town with a famous public school and abbey which dominates the town. Lots of very attractive historic buildings, but a slightly picture-book vib to the place with many tea shops and somewhat overpriced coffee. Easy to veg around , everything within a short walking distance, great little shops . Would have been nice if there were more reasonably priced eateries. A note to visitors , most shops not open on Mondays. Fish and chip shop near Abbey not open Monday and Tuesday . Sherborne town is a few miles from Munden House. Car parking was inexpensive at £1.50 for 2 hours. A good selection of shops. We found a lovely coffee house off a side street close to Fired Earth at the bottom of the town which also served as a delicatessen.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Friendly people, a good choice of shops in a fairly flat location. The Abbey, with all of its history, was well worth a look. Some nice pubs offering good food like the Half Moon, a 'locals' pub with nice staff and a welcoming atmosphere just across from the Abbey.
