Excellent location, ideal for overnight stay before heading to Luton airport. Room really clean, bed comfortable and choice of pillows available. Really good shower and the bathroom was spotless. Plenty of variety for breakfast. Good that the hotel offers free parking and additional spaces available if hotel car park spaces are full. Enjoyed a really nice meal in the Paper Mill which is next to the hotel and located on the canal. Would recommend and would stay here again.

I loved being in the old town and imagining having been there hundreds of years ago. I really like the mix of all kinds of people in H. Hempstead AND that is didn’t seem like there were loads of tourists. The town has a beautiful park system so I walked a lot and ate in a variety of restaurants. I was there to rest between trips so it suited me perfectly. It was very quiet.

The gym was a disaster with no towels, no paper towels, no water and dirty unkept machines, used/empty water balls left around the gym/room, etc. Just very uncomfortable. There was no still water bottle in the bar other than tap water.

Beautiful location, very quiet, stunning place to stay. The cabin in spacious and lovely to be in. Bed very comfortable, bathroom has huge walk in shower. Kitchen area was great, dining are and lounge area comfortable. Large TV which was a bonus. Lovely outside space to sit with morning coffee. Car parked on drive which felt secure and hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Milk, various teas and instant coffee and also fresh coffee, hot chocolate also. Fresh orange juice and a couple of beers in the fridge! Well thought out, well worth the money, will be staying again. 5*

It was a lovely place to visit.

It was a lovely place to visit. The Buddhist temple, Ashridge estate were lovely. Local coffee shops to enjoy book in the sun. Stroll along the Berkhampstead highstreet. There is still so much to see

Hemel isn’t a nice as we thought it would be. Town centre very scruffy & full of takeaway shops & fast food outlets. Traffic was hideous with a very dodgy 6 mini roundabout - roundabout! We only stayed here as it’s a short drive to Harry Potter studios, definitely wouldn’t stay here again.

The ambience was great, breakfast lovely, but the staff didn't know what a bloody Mary cocktail is at the bar. The cleaning of the rooms, was also not completely great, but staff were fantastic. Also had to pay for parking of our rented car, but glad the place was secured. Family friendly hotel

The walk along the canal and the beautiful marina are a must and Sainsbury’s is a gem min walk down the road or canal path. The train station at Aspley is not brilliant would recommend booking g tickets online before stay as machines were broken and station is not manned. The hotel was amazing and perfect place if visiting Harry Potter studios. The hotel it’s self is perfect and can’t wait to stay again.

Room had sofa, excellent bed and very good tv, decent desk space easily accommodated quite a large laptop and was separate to tea/coffee area. Nice big bath towels. Despite the lift being small it was quick. Nice to have breakfast included. The canal and the marina type space adjacent to the rear of the hotel made for a nice walk, ...very pretty with all the narrowboats and eateries.

I have stayed here a few times when in the area for work and leisure. It's definitely the best place to stay with great rooms, great staff and lovely food and drink. All the staff are so friendly and helpful they make you feel like a friend than a guest. I'll be back again you can count on that. Special thanks to Brett for making my stay a truly wonderful one

Staff were lovely and so helpful, like nothing was too much. On booking in, I asked for a room next to an exit, and the lovely receptionist found one and changed our room no issue for which I was very grateful. Breakfast! What can I say?! It was exceptional, definitely the best thing about the hotel. Lovely remote location.

Its such a shame, the hotel does need a facelift, lovely stream out back and the decking and gardens could do with some tender care But it's a beautiful area, with some lovely pubs around
