Douglas is not big but it is a nice place to go shopping with a variety of shops to chose from. The Manx Museum in Douglas is a must visit place full of interesting artefacts and information. A tour of the Gaiety Theatre may not be for everyone but it is a very interesting visit. On a nice day take a ride on the horse drawn tram. The horses are well loved and looked after. Travel from Douglas is easy - even if you do not have a car. Various forms of transport can add fun to a visit to Isle of Man. Steam trains to Port Erin, electric trams to Laxey and Ramsey. The mountain railway from Laxey to Snaefell takes you past the great Laxey Wheel.

I love it for the elegant Victorian style including the Bay Horsetram and Manx Electric railway with the seaviews and all possibilities of exploring the island culture. It is combination of a relaxing and vibrant location. I would stay again in Welbeck Hotel for the style as well as the fantastic owner and food. It has fantastic events annually as well and a very convenient public transport to get around the island.

The transport system around the island is so convenient and varied. I would recommend purchasing a Heritage Go card that was great value. So much to see and do - most heritage locations included with the card. There are horse drawn trams, electric trains, buses, mountain railway and it is definitely worth visiting the Gaiety Theatre. We will be back!!

We had a very enjoyable stay on Isle of Man. The location is very good, just off the promenade and besides the electric railway bringing us to Laxey. Overall public transport on Isle of Man is easy to use, well sign-posted and everyone we spoke to were very welcoming. We are considering coming back to Isle of Man next year.
