Paihia is absolutely stunning. I visited most recently in Winter and loved taking the kids over to Russell to see some true NZ history. But the first time I visited was Summer and that is when you should definitely visit. Its out of this world. Great food outlets, pubs, walks and views. I have family roots in Waitangi, but when I decided to take my granddaughter (11yrs) and grandson (09yrs) to take a look at our waka, it was going to cost me $35.00 per head (adults) x2 just for my grandkids to see our canoe. Paihia is a great place to stay and head to the islands and the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. The ferry port and Treaty Grounds are in easy walking distance from the apartments. The apartment was very well presented and equipped. Gorgeous views. We thank the proprietors for the 'essentials' they provided including chocolate! We didn't realise there wasn't a lift though - carrying lots of luggage up flights of stairs was a bit hard.Guest review byWilliamAustralia - 10.0

I’m impressed with the variety of shops including food/kai restaurants. King Wahs, Jimmy Jacks. The local 4 Square also has a variety of specials for those travelling by camper vans or doing a weekend stay like us. We would have done a lot more had we had the time. Lots of great fishing spots. Cyclone Tam interrupted a lot but no refund on accomodation so made the most of it. Visited Waitangi and Ngawha Hot Pools (30 mins drive). Restaurants and cafes really make this place! Recommend King Wah, JFC's and Letz Cafe. Easy to walk main street. Car to get to most other things but only due to the weather.Guest review byAnonymousCanada

The room was a 2 bedroom apartment, super spacious for a family or a stay with friends. Extra towels for each guest which I really love, lots of amenities.
