Imperial House Holiday Let, hotel in Herne Bay

Imperial House Holiday Let is located in Herne Bay, just a few steps from Herne Bay Beach and 6.8 miles from University of Kent.

We only had a very short overnight visit but it consisted of everything we wanted and more. The breakfast hamper, bottled water and wine were a generous little extra. Milk and butter in the fridge. It was decorated perfectly and was great value for money.

If you like fish and chips, kebabs and amusement arcades,...

If you like fish and chips, kebabs and amusement arcades, Herne Bay will probably suit - provided it doesn't rain as there is very little to do. There is a serious lack of decent restaurants and almost none open before Thursday! Whitstable and Broadstairs are definitely better to visit.

Attractions in Herne Bay are limited, but worth walking out to the pier to see people catching crabs. Very peaceful walks and lovely sky scapes. Good access to nearby Canterbury, an interesting town and Cathedral to see. Also easy to get to Whitstable which has a great High Street and quirky shops. Whitstable has lots of restaurants and coffee places and is a lovely town to explore and plenty of history with the oyster catching. So using Herne Bay as a base there are lots of interesting places to visit around that part of Kent.

We have visited Herne Bay many times and enjoy being there. Their are plenty of pubs and restaurants, cafe s to suit all pockets. We enjoy walking along the sea front and along the pier . We have also witnessed some amazing sunsets there.

We have family who live in Herne Bay, so I’ve been a few times for various reasons, though this was the 1st I’d stayed anywhere outside of their home. I like it there! There’s always something to do, a good choice of shops-more than you see initially. When we’ve visited in the summer, we’ve enjoyed Air shows, classic car parades, live music and Caribbean food on the pier, the Cartoon festival or even just a BBQ on the beach. The beach is mostly sandy but nearer the beach huts, the sand turns to shingle.

On a walking holiday so only stayed one night but the Aqua Bay Guest House was spot on - would recommend. Ate in a Turkish restaurant - A La Turka - on the seafront in the evening and it was excellent.

Herne Bay is a charming seaside town.

Herne Bay is a charming seaside town. Good choice of cafes and restaurants. A very good Sri Lankan restaurant opposite the pier. Lovely food. Good transport links to other seaside towns, and very close to Canterbury. So easy to reach from London. I found it very friendly as a lone traveller. A had a lovely short break.

The B&B is on a quiet residential road within walking distance of the parade/High St of Herne Bay. Hot breakfast was prepared to order and it was all really well done; Luke's scrambled eggs were really good. The room we had also had a lovely sitting room with very comfortable sofa and the decor throughout was very stylish. Luke and Rachel were charming and helpful hosts.

Lovely spacious and clean accommodation. Ideal for me as a lone traveller, but it would suit a couple/small family equally well. Emma was very helpful but unobtrusive. I appreciated that she contacted me to let me know I'd left a small bag behind! I'm a frequent visitor to Herne Bay, and would definitely stay at Hillrise again!

Very close to all places offering selection of food and traditional English breakfast. We liked the location and the comfortable indoor space of the apartment. All facilities within walking distance made our stay very relaxed. The independent character of local businesses make Herne Bay unique place on a map.

Lovely selection of condiments on arrival. Great location on Herne Bay seafront. The jukebox made a great addition to the American diner styled front room. TV had a sky box with netflix and Prime, which was great for evening entertainment. Lots of storage space. Hosts were lovely.

Stayed here for my wedding and we booked all four rooms. It was the perfect place to stay. Room 4 was the perfect room for hair and make up. This is such a luxury boutique b’n’b - so different to anywhere else in Herne Bay.

Perfect location, lovely hosts. Nice linen and bath sheets, not the usual bath towels as in 99% of hotels. Extra bath towels, perfect for hair washes, otherwise it’s the hand towel. Lovely breakfast, nice coffee.
