The room (Superior River View) was much more spacious that the pictures suggested. There was plenty of space to move around, the bathroom was great with both a walk-in shower and a bath. The view was spectacular - even though we were looking over the construction of the new green-bridge - it was beautiful and interesting.
We had breakfast included and it was absolutely fantastic! Great selection, hot and cold as well as great coffee and pastries.

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.
Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.
This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.
Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.
Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.
We stayed in what would be considered the business district,...
We stayed in what would be considered the business district, just across the river to the South Side, which was within walking distance and had a wonderful riverside walking area, botanical garden, remnants of their World Expo, and museums. In a different direction, there was a closed street mall (where you could walk between buildings filled with shops and food stops). Every time we went out, we found free concerts and music: a singing competition, the Queensland Youth Orchestra, and even a free concert in the City Hall by the only Brass Orchestra in Australia. At one point, we even heard bagpipe music in the distance!
Walking around felt safe. The people at the Information centers were very helpful as well, and offered several maps, including a walking map with four options and help with any transportation questions. We opted to take a day tour to the Australia zoo, which was very reasonably priced and extremely impressive. All-iin-all it was the best ending to our time in Australia!

We were near Howard Smith Wharves which we had never been to. They were interesting though way overpriced for everything they offered. The area around was lots of coffee shops and a couple of small supermarkets. The river walk was great and we enjoyed it at night as we headed out for dinner then returned. Felt very safe at all times.

Lots of things to do in Brisbane, plus it is centrally located between the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast and also the Hinterland, with such places as Mount Tamborine and also Montville and Malaney are all just a day trip away . On the negative side it cost me a fortune in Road Toll fees and the traffic is horrendous.

The accommodation was great for what we wanted. However, it stated we were staying in one building, but they booked us into a different block, and there was no off street parking as advertised on the booking. com website.

It's late May & still warm enough to wear shorts & Tee shirts. The City is not as big as Sydney & Melbourne, but the Pubs & restaurants are just as good as those cities. The Area under the Storey Bridge is nice to visit for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Ferry rides on the river & bike rides along the river are highly recommended.
Small hotel on Kangaroo Point, across the river from Brisbane's CBD (downtown). We had a nice 2-night stay. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Spacious room with full size fridge and cooking facilities. Chris at the front desk is very helpful. We recommend taking the short 2-3 minute walk eastward (turn right as you leave the hotel, then left at the river) to Medley Cafe for a lovely breakfast; the cafe is set amongst trees and overlooks the river.
Very large king room, good facilities - large TV, kitchen, fridge, air-con. lounge chairs, very comfy bed with firm pillows.
Very quiet. Good view of city. Swimming pool and sun baking area. Free parking, a real plus for Brisbane! Across the road from the Shafston Hotel - great steaks! - and an IGA and coffee shop. Close to the city. Friendly check in man. Very clean and modern building and easy to access with swipe key.
Hotel Alpha was a really great place to stay located super close to everything! Definitely the place to be if you're after accommodation within the city heart. All staff were super friendly & helpful + we had a huge room with a really comfortable bed. Also the block out curtains are a huge win if you like a sleep-in or even if you've had a big night out in fortitude valley.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The Cosmo is beside the Park Road eateries and a 2 minute walk to the Brisbane River walking and cycling path which leads to the CBD, Southbank or West to The Union QLD. It is a 2-5 minute drive to the vibrant and historic villages or Rosalie and Paddington. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean. The bed was very comfortable.
I booked two different rooms, on arrival in Brisbane and on my return trip before departure, Queens size bed and King size bed, both beds were really comfortable, very helpful staff made it work for me ! thanks again !
The hotel was located between the airport and the city, bus and train in minute walking distance. very practical !
Great location, central to lots of things around Brisbane but not actually in the CBD so easier to get around if you need to have a car. Consistent experience, I know what I will get when I book here. Great base if you need to be in Brissy for a few days and great value for money. Check in process is quite simple.
The Location of this hotel, in my opinion, is the best in Brisbane if you are looking for a night or two in the city. It is in the heart of Howard Smith Wharf and very close to the night spots of Brisbane. A short scooter ride will get you to Southbank. The staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable.
What a fabulous grand old hotel! Olde world charm but beautifully renovated and presented. Spacious apartment room with kitchenette and washing / drying machines. Comfortable bed with blanket, not doona. Hot shower. Quiet. Convenient to everything in Brisbane CBD. Good eating nearby. Courteous staff.
Very good location in Brisbane CBD. Hotel is near one of the best food courts I have seen, supermarket (Coles) and restaurants. Hotel décor is modern, but simple. Staff are nice and helpful. They respond immediately, if you report a problem. The breakfast buffet is nice
Location was ideal, despite being in the Brisbane CBD, it was located at a corner along Queens Street, a 1.5mile away from the city centre. Most of the shops were just minutes walk and good coffee and breakfast was readily available next to the hotel. Nice location!!
Close to the Northshore Eat Street was a bonus, plus Fortitude Valley, Brisbane CBD and Southbank were nearby as well. Had loads of places to go within a short distance of driving.
Room was awesome for the price, comfortable bed, aircon was a major plus
This property is located really well for Queen Street Mall and the City Botanic Gardens. A short, easy walk across the nearby bridge gets you to the Southbank and the West End. Getting out of the CBD from the hotel in the car is easy.
Always love our stay here location is great car parking covered
Staff friendly
One of favourite places to stay in southbank
This time had a great view of river and suncorp stadium
Walk to qpac and southbank brisbane cbd
Perfect location to catch train, walk on Southbank, attend theatres, walk down to Queen St on North Quay, take city ferries up and down the Brisbane River. Easy to catch train to airport, great staff, lovely room
Very cool & modern hotel in the CBD overlooking the river and Southbank. Great attention to detail in room fitout. Certainly more interesting & fun than its muted contemporaries. Highly recommend.
Budget hotel centrally located in Brisbane next door to Brisbane Private Hospital. Paid extra for a room with a balcony recently refurbished. Well worth the extra money. Great city views.
Happy with the location and convenience of the hotel to Southbank & the CBD. Satisfied with the facilities of the self-contained apartment. View from the single bed room was great.
Very convenient location (walking distance to Roma St station, close to shopping mall, botanic garden, Southbank). Quiet for a CBD hotel. Reasonable price for facilities offered.
Good location for either Brisbane CBD and about a 15 minute walk to Southbank cultural precinct. Comfortable bed. Very quiet - we didn’t hear any other guests.
