This was our fourth stay and everything was just perfect again. I’m a wheelchair user and my wife and I just relax at the room and have room service for our evening meal. The weather was kind to us so we were able sit outside on the lovely deck and enjoy the sunshine. The evening meal of fish and chips was delicious and the full English breakfast the next morning was fantastic. The room is excellent for me as I’m able to move around in my wheelchair. The staff are very friendly and polite and welcoming and will go out of their way to accommodate any extra requests you may have if they can. I’ve already booked to go back again in a few weeks.

We liked the situation of the rooms with the beautiful views. It was also good that the rooms were away from the main pub/restaurant so if there had been any noise we wouldn't have heard it. (There wasn't any at all) The owners were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. All of the staff were the same, very helpful. The evening meals were superb with plenty of choice. Perfectly situated for Bakewell and Chatsworth.

There's some great pubs locally that have amazing food menu's and also have live music most weekends . There are some very good car boots close by to clay cross and its great to go for a mooch around looking for some bargains ..Tansley is a morning car boot every Sunday and Twin Oaks is a Saturday afternoon take wellies as this time of year the ground can be quite muddy . We throughly enjoyed our weekend in Clay Cross and will most definitely return

    Good location gor our trip.

Good location gor our trip. Room large but could do with a refresh. Disappointed at paying full price when an 18th birthday party was taking place which disturbed our sleep. Lovely food and the waitress was very attentive. No manager appeared to be on the premises and not heard back with regards to complaint.

There wasn't much to Clay Cross that we we saw and we didn't look around the area particularly. Mostly rural but a static mobile home park was close by. Easy to find using a sat nav., just avoid the bike riders - of which there were quite a few.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable, everything was in first class condition, no scuffed paintwork or stained carpets , both of which we have experienced in many hotels across the country. Every need was catered for, it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into providing everything a guest would need to be comfortable. The staff were really lovely and friendly and the food was excellent. We will certainly be going back in the future, thank you to everyone.

Stayed here for a long weekend to satisfy my wife's need to go back to Clay Cross after a 30 year break from living there. Barn View was everything we hoped for and more, absolutely fabulous barn conversion we're already planning on going back. 5 stars all round. K&V

It was perfectly located for Stretton Manor Barn for a wedding we were attending. As we were staying with our 14 year old daughter, it was nice that she was able to have her own room but still be next to us. This wouldn’t have been possible in a standard hotel.

Free breakfast, good dinner, both are excellent. I liked my drink quite a lot. The hotel has seen the glorious days, and now looks decent, sturdy, and grandiose - take the history of the region into account.

Very nice decor in restaurant. The hotel is close to a built up area but then you drive into a rural area, so it's a nice setting.
