It is slightly outside of the town, and a good base for walking. We also used the Lido while we were there which was good.
Room of premier inn standard. Good.

Anne and John were perfect hosts, they have a beautiful home and we were made very welcome. The room was lovely and had everything we needed. The complimentary flapjacks were the nicest we have had.

Matlock Bath is such a beautiful place , the views, the walks, and a lovely restaurant called The Seafood Cave and Grill. The food here was omg so fresh and tasty! Would definitely recommend this restaurant, not cheap but worth a visit. Some of the other local pubs ran out of food on a Saturday afternoon which baffled us to be honest? Lots of fish and chips available which seem to appeal to motorcycles. The walks are beautiful and the heights of Abraham are well worth a visit.

There are a lot of things to do in the area and lots of lovely countryside to walk in. Wirksworth and Ashbourne and Cromford are great places to visit. Dovedale, Chatsworth and Bakewell are not far away either and Carsington Water is only a 15 minute drive.

Close to all shops pubs etc easy to park up own parking place FREE , pubs nice food expensive, Chinese take away Cantonese Wok not nice.
We walked to get cable car at £28 + EACH not worth that money ever HONEST nice ride up to top of hill 5 min ride to top and same coming down 5 mins for the money its wrong.
Great location. It is a short walk down the road to the town and local restaurants/hotels. The station is even closer if you want to go to Matlock Bath to experience the Heights of Abraham or Cromford for the Mill complex. Arrive by train or bus to Matlock Bath and the cable car is discounted. This is a quiet location with welcoming hosts who provide a marvellous breakfast to order.
We have stayed at this hotel 5 or times in the past and had been looking forward to revisiting after its major renovation. The room was better than before, as was the decor in the bar and restaurant areas. A beer garden had been added which was well designed and landscaped. However, the hotel for us had one major Achilles Heel (see below).
Clean and comfortable. Great shower. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely views from bedroom and lounge. Charming and helpful hosts (Cathy and Rich). Great base for visiting the lovely Peak District villages, Chatsworth etc. Walking distance to Heights of Abraham cable cars. Pleasant walk to Matlock.
Rooms were well located, away from the main pub so no noise from the bar.
Great for travelling with dogs.
Being located away from the town centre is both a pro and con as Matlock is very steep however the bus stops right outside the car park should you not wish to walk back up from the town.
Location ideal to explore Matlock Bath and the surrounding Derbyshire Dales. I was in the area for a half marathon and the hotel was ideally located for that event. Bed was very comfortable with a choice of pillows to suit. The breakfast was beautifully prepared and served fresh to order
We had the kingside room which had a four poster bed with amazing views of the matlock castle. The bathroom was also very nice and very big with a walk in shower. The food in the hotel was excellent and the staff were very helpful and there was a wide range of local ales for sale.
Situated between Matlock and Matlock Bath and central for visiting the Derbyshire dales. Within a short walking distance from Matlock bath and it's facilities. Great if your a walker, with walks from door. Clean and comfortable. Helpful and friendly hosts, and a great breakfast.
The property was just as described and the views were gorgeous, even on a rainy Derbyshire morning. Everywhere was clean and tidy and Netflix/WiFi was available as promised. The location was close to the town centre although the roads around the property are very steep.
lovely pretty cottage, lockable pantry which was brilliant as we had a disabled adult who eats too much. comfy beds, lots of towels, large shower. terrific views. very clean well equipped for dogs. Matlock is very dog friendly everywhere we went was dog friendly.
Stayed here with some friends for my 50th birthday. Lovely hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Close to matlock and matlock bath. Breakfast was continental very nice. Friends had a cooked breakfast which they enjoyed. Check out at 11am.
Situated in the middle of Matlock Bath this is a lovely hotel.
Our hosts made us very welcome and the COVID-19 measures were really good.
I do have to say that the ‘bacon buttie’ along with the ‘porridge’ at breakfast was wonderful 👍😀
Welcomed at reception and let to a cozy but spacious room with very comfortable bed and nice bathroom too. Nice breakfast each day and can order a good value dinner too. Short walk to centre of Matlock
The hotel has lovely views and grounds, the staff are really friendly and very accommodating, we took our dog, and would highly recommend it for dog owners, would definitely stay there again
The location is perfect for rambles right from the hotel and a short and pretty walk to eat out in either Matlock for Stones Michelin restaurant or Matlock Bath for a bag of chips.
The hotel was really nice, the staff were so helpful. Our room was lovely and the pool and gardens were really nice as well. It’s in a great location for exploring Matlock Bath.
Very relaxed and friendly. Spacious bedroom with nice view. Good sized bathroom.
Good value for money restaurant.
PS 3 pin socket beside window wouldn’t accept plug.
